I can't even express the awesomesauciness of this book
No, I've only read the first one and the mini one from Viola's point of view so far. But I am working on getting a hold of the second one!
AAHHHH. That is tragic. They're soooo good. I think the third is my fave. It's so totally epic … definitely one of my favorite books ever <3 <3 <3 The ending is rather evil, though.

This is one of my favorite books ever. It is just so unlike anything else I have ever read, and the writing style is magnificent!
Its hard to choose a favorite part, but I really loved the cliff-hanger ending.
It is such a brilliant book :)
I saw this was the new book yesterday, and this morning I see the book displayed on the new book section in my school's library. Perfect Timing =] I started reading it and I like it, but I'm nowhere near the middle, so I hope it gets better =] The writing style is interesting =] Kinda hard to get used to
Okay. Now I really really really really want to read this book. I've heard nothing but good things about it. But now I really want to read it.
Haley wrote: "I started reading that book awhile back but I returned it back to the library because I found it somewhat boring...."
You have to get past the beginning; it starts off kinda slow but it gets really really good. :) I say you should give it another try.

I agree, I found it very hard to get used to at first. It's kind of like "WTF is this book?!" at the beginning, but I got totally hooked. The writing style is so interesting, and I love the characters; they're just so adorable!

I'm on page 162, i've officially gotten used to the writing, and i'm getting more and more hooked!!!! ahhh. But yeah the beginnign is kind of boring but at the very end of Part One it picks up. What I wanted to say before I forgot I really like it in books where you can read different dialects. Since in life not everyone speaks the same way, and that's what I like in Huck Finn where you get to expierence different dialects in writing. And in this book, even tho it's being told by a boy who can't really write or read, you still get to see different dialects of the new World. I'm at the part with Hildy and her husband, and i like how there dialects are diff than Todd's. *exhales* okay that's basically what I wanted to say =]
Agreeeed. Yeah, I like all the dialects too. Awww I love Hildy and uhh whatshisface Gilf? Is that his name? Anyway, yeah. I really need to reread this book.

I would send you the book if I could, but my friend has it and it would be stalker-ish.
When you put a new book on the list what AGE range like this one has a TON of bad words, I don't really mind, but Poison Study was in the Adult section in the library which makes makes me question.p.s.
i didn't like the knife of never go, to many missed spelled words ( and I know that was on purpose ) but ya.
Kriss wrote: "I don't understand how anyone can dislike the Knife of Never Letting Go."well I'm not done with it yet. I just don't like it right now
It gets better the farther into the book you get, but the beginnings pretty good too. More so after you read the end, if that makes sense.
Micki wrote: "When you put a new book on the list what AGE range like this one has a TON of bad words, I don't really mind, but Poison Study was in the Adult section in the library which makes makes me question...."Thats the reason I didnt like it the first time I attempted to read it! I thought it was stupid that it was written with loads of spelling mistakes, but then I picked it up again a few months later, read into the story and really got into the stream-or-conciousness style of writing. I <3 TKONLG

*cough* I love how you misspelled "misspelled".
It's called a stylistic choice. Giving a book some originality. And there really aren't all that many misspelled words; at least there's a consistent pattern in the misspellings, so you can tell Patrick Ness thought hard about the style. You can still understand what's going on, and that's all that matters. If you can't see past the style you are missing out big-time. These books have a very powerful message. ;)

Makes sense to me. It was one of those books I loved more after I finished reading it … like the more I thought about it, the more genius I realized it was. And after I read the second book I was like "Okay. These books are officially the best thing ever." :D

Behind Harry Potter Boxset and The Book Thief, Chaos Walking are my favorite books ever. It is easily my favorite trilogy too.
I think that The Ask and the Answer is the best of them all, however Monsters of Men is not far behind at all.
Oh, did you all know that Ness wrote a short prequel named
The New World?
It is a 15 page short story about Viola and her parents landing on New World.
I gave it 3 stars, and put it on my enjoyable shelf. Its definitely worth reading. Its available on kindle, but its free here it is:

Gaahh I know! The Book Thief is one of my favorites, too. (*cough* I haven't read Harry Potter yet *cough* But I will.) Monsters of Men was my favorite in the trilogy. :)
I loved The New World too! Although I was slightly disappointed because I was kind of hoping we'd get to see Viola and Todd meeting through Viola's perspective. But oh well … It was still amazing. XD
