Re-published Book Question

Question - there are some authors that have taken books they have self-published and re-released them with a publishing company under a new title. Should the original titled books be combined with the new titled books? I've seen some combined and some not.

Yes, they should be combined unless they've been revised substantially enough to be considered an entirely new book.

If a book went from 50.000 to 80.000 words, I'm assuming this revised substantially enough? How to properly distinguish between the two books, if alas, Title, Cover and publisher are the same?

There aren't any hard rules; if you're not sure, you can always post it to the librarian group here and get some second opinions.

For distinguishing them, a librarian's note (so other librarians don't recombine them) and an explanation in both books' descriptions (so readers know which book is which) are useful.
