TEAM THREAD: Team #5 Furious Five

Kiss of Midnight-Lara Adrian, 10.19: this is the 1st book in the Midnight Breed Series...I 1st picked this book because of another category for a different challenge I am participating in & I have to say I am a little disappointed in this book. The entire time while I was reading is this I kept asking myself if this was a Black Dagger Brotherhood wanna be? Anyway, the book had pretty much the same storyline as other BDB books-vampire meets beautiful women, vampire falls head over heels in love with beautiful girl, we have war & major death scenes & then we have major sex scenes (which were good but nearly so like BDB)...anyway, I plan to read the 2nd book in the series just dont plan to jump right on that lily pad any time soon. I give this book 3*s...

Thank you, I am - I am feeling much better now that I finished my book LOL - hate being the last one finished :(

Shelleyrae - I need side-blinders when I go to the library...my intentions are to pick up 1 book and I leave with 5 more than I needed. Very easily sidetracked ;)

Might be one of the last ones to finish my free space read, since I have to read two other books for another challenge before I can get to it.

about the freespace - I keep saying I'm going to read my freespace and end up with another book. I figure there's no real rush yet.
Ditto with the holds! Holds are kept behind the checkout counter and I'll still take a trip through before picking it up. No self-control, hehe.

Hunting Ground read October 20, 2010 4 stars.
I thought this book was great. It was good see Anna not be so scared of everyone. I find it funny that she keeps killing , but yet seems so fragile at the same time.
Charles is always thinking that he needs to protect Anna yet she is the one out there doing the killing and pretty much taking care of Charles.
I am looking forward to when Charles and Anna both drop their walls and let each other in completely.
I am looking forward to getting my hands on the next book.

Happy Reading, Everyone!!

I am going to read...Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer

For VAMPIRES-WEREWOLVES
I am either going to go with The Accidental Werewolf or Wicked Game. My choice is depending on which book I can get from the library first, so I will update when I find out.

finished: 10.26.10
I was so confused for probably 80% of the book, in part because of the writing. The author would throw in info dumps right in the middle of an event or conversation, which was a little distracting. Still, I found the overall story pretty engaging and the characters likeable. I am looking forward to the next book, hoping it will be less confusing now that I've got some background info coming into it.

Way to Go!!!! Congrats on finishing your book

Since some of you plan on reading it, I did hear from someone others that while the first book is a little confusing, the next ones don't have that problem, so now I'm even more excited about continuing the story.

I am a big fan on the Cassie Palmer series!

Chance's Dorina Basarab is much better.

4*
I LOVED this book. Who doesn't love a tortured hero? Malkom has had to overcome some tough stuff in his 400 years of life and Carrow is sent to capture him, or else. As usual with the IAD books, the heroines are tough and witty, which creates some very funny parts in the book. The book has some hot scenes too. One of my favorite books in the series. Kresley Cole has created a very multi-layered world and the only problem is that sometimes it can be a while between books, so I may forget some things that have happened in one of the previous 9.

This was a cute story about Marty a cosmetic door to door sales rep who accidentally gets bit (more like gets her hand caught in the mouth) by a werewolf who she thought was just a big dog. Marty's lonely life takes a sudden turn as she deals with becoming a werewolf and trying to avoid being kidnapped.I thought this book was pretty funny, there were plenty of times I laughed out loud. The only thing I thought was strange was for Keegan being an alpha he didn't seem to be very alpha like. When I think of a werewolf alpha I think domineering, strong personality, and not taking no for an answer. Keegan kinda fell flat on these things because he didn't tackle some issues head on, to me he had the out of sight out of mind mentality. Overall I enjoyed this book and will continue on with the series
