TEAM THREAD: Team #1 Just One More... [SECOND PLACE]
Yes, well, I may have been a little harsh, it was a good book compared to others, but I was just so disappointed because of the high expectations I had for RM's writing. The only character I felt for was Adrian.
On that note, for the fans of the Fever series, Shadowfever was amazing, a great conclusion to the series and well worth the wait. Loved it!

I completely agree, Miss!
I completely agree, Miss!
LOL Miss! "reading it felt like expecting a feast and getting cold porridge (bland and hard to digest, lol)."
@Miss: That's too bad! Fingers crossed for Georgiana!!!I'm just in a mess deciding what to do about Shadowfever...use the Christmas money from Dad to buy the e-book NOW, or wait for the paperback (considerably cheaper) in the FALL.....ugh....

That series has perked my interest....is it one where you're dying to get the next book (so hold off starting it until there's lots to read) or one that's just fine to read as they come out?
I'm interested to see Jen's response, Judithe, but for me the series is a fun read. Not one I'm dyin' to get my hands on with each release. Although, I'm always pleased with them once I've read them.
I agree with Steph, the series is a fun read and the endings are ok, you don't feel that you HAVE to read the next book right away.
OK! It's no officially added to my TBR...HA! for thinking it might be on a diet...no way! This place is like Reese's peanut butter cups from Costco for lovely not-so-little-anymore TBR-chan!
I agree with Steph and Miss... they're really good but I'm not jonesing for the next one immediately quite yet :)
New shelf announcement coming later today! Everyone's got their 'wishlist' stamp, so figured no need to wait till Monday. :D

I can't wait to read that...but have to! LOL...I might end up changing my selection to that, too, though, depending on when I can actually start reading a book again (back to work...and work faster, faster!)

It's 1 that been sitting in my TBR for forever, so I'll finally give it a go! :)"
I highly recommend you read the short story in Wild Thing first. I was very confused when I read The Iron Hunt.
I'm not sure what I'm going to read. It will depend on what month it is when I finish my current book.
Judithe wrote: "I can't wait to read that...but have to! LOL...I might end up changing my selection to that, too, though, depending on when I can actually start reading a book again (back to work...and work faste..."It's going great so far, I love Elena and Raphael!
For the shelf - I3 Paranormal and Urban FantasyVisions of Heat by Nalini Singh
Finished 29/01 - 5 stars
I have been looking forward to reading this book since before Christmas - and it definitely didn't disappoint!
Centre stage is Faith - a Psy that has the ability to foresee the future - which has been carefully channelled to increase profitability in her family. When she begins to have dark visions - not associated with business she ventures outside her isolated compound, into changeling territory to find help and answers.
Vaughn, one of the most wild of the DarkRiver pack is inexplicably drawn to Faith - and has to overcome is animal side in order to protect Faith's sanity.
Love , Love, Love this book! Better than the first of the series!
Miss wrote: "I will be reading

Looking forward to your review too Judith - I have Karen Chance's series on my TBR list.

YEAH!!!!! I absolutely love that one, and the angel's....I still haven't started my Bingo book...geez...if I can't get to it soon, it will be February and time for my next Nalini Singh...though, honestly, not delaying for that!
I enjoyed the first Karen Chance...kind of liked her ghost friends and am quite interested in what she's going to do next with her unwanted "inheritance" so quite looking forward to this one, too!
01/30 - Finished Archangel's Consort for this shelf, a 4.5 star read for me, here is my review:This book deals with Elena's return to NY for the first time since her change, and let me say it's not easy for her, people are awed a little but mostly curious and mistrustful. She is also finding it hard to adjust to her new wings and flying. Raphael is wonderful and supportive but he had his own drama to contend with, his mother, Caliane, is waking and she is not happy about Elena. The ending was similar to the other two books in the series, wrapped up but with a hint of new possibilities and development.
I hear the next book will be focused on Dimitri but I hope the author will return to Elena and Raphael later, they are awesome together, and there's still a big unknown about the Archangel's trace of mortality because of his consort.Also interested in the other Seven, especially Illium. :)
Great series!
1/31/11 4.5*The action was fast and furious, with many unexpected twists. Cassie is a very interesting character, and seeing how she rises to "challenges" despite her reluctance is also quite interesting. She struggles to accept her new role in this story, which wraps up some details, but leaves many tantalizing details for the next story. Can't wait to read it!
Finished Dhampir today (2/1/11) and gave it three stars.Review:
This book took a bit to get into. Mostly due to the fact you don't learn much about the main characters right away, except that they are fleecing small villages. Somehow it is ok to like a thief character when they steal from the rich, but when they steal from the poor and superstitious, it just doesn't work. So Magiere and Leesil set her up as a Hunter and then Leesil would pretend to be the vampire she saved the village from. Luckily, Magiere wants to retire from this kind of work and run a tavern. But fate has a sense of humor...
What I enjoyed:
* Leesil was an interesting character which a very interesting past.
* The vampires' backstory.
* Chap, the dog.
* (view spoiler)
What could have been improved:
* Magiere isn't very likable.
* The story seemed to drag in certain places.
* The townsfolk of Miiska. They knew they had evil in the town and did nothing to protect themselves.

I hope Georgina gets a really good happy ending too! It's a great series. Sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy Last Sacrifice either.
