Has anyone read Kalayna Price? I saw an ad for a new book of her's coming out soon: Grave Witch. I read the first chapter on her website, and it seemed interesting enough. She has another series of books out (Once Bitten, Twice Dead and Third Blood). I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts/recommendations on her books.

It took me a while to get into Once Bitten, by the last quarter or so of the book was awesome! Twice Dead was fantastic, as was her new series debut Grave Witch.
I have not read her haven series. I heard the haven series was not that great so I don't think I'll be reading that one. I happened to pick up grave witch b/c it looked great and there was great ratings and Grave Witch was amazing! i highly recommend it =)
Thought Grave Witch was great! Have the others in the TBR, but haven't gotten around to them either.
I won Twice Dead from librarything early revieweres, so I read Once Bitten. I do not remember exactly how far I got into Once Bitten, but I thought it was very bad -- bad writing, bad dialogue, predictable, bits and pieces stolen from so many other series. I couldn't finish it and never got to Twice Dead (which I feel guilty about). I am guessing Grave Witch must be better since it is getting decent reviews, but I am still hesitant.

I just finished Grave Witch and it was tons better than the other stuff.
With all the comments here, I went ahead and put Grave Witch on my TBR pile. I'm not sure I'll read Once Bitten. My TBR keeps getting bigger and I dunno if I'll ever have time to read it, especially with the mixed comments I hear about it.

I've read "Grave Witch" as it was on a group read somewhere. Not bad. I will continue with this series. I didn't know that she had other books out.
I have not read many books in the same genre so I cannot provide an honest opinion. I finished ''Grave witch'' lately and even if the world building is not extensive, I find that the little details are refreshing. First is that using her witch talent has consequences to her health (like the fact that she pays for it). While using her talent her perceived reality changes and is effectively described, not as overdone as Greywalker for example.I'm going to try the second book when it comes out to see if Death is going to be kicked to the curb or not.

Grave Witch was one of my favorite books that I read in the first half of 2011, and so far I'm loving Grave Dance as well. I love the fallibility of the main character, that she's not this uber-tough magic chick like so many protagonists in UF are. I'm also enjoying the emphasis on faerie lore in the second book.

Once Bitten had loads of potential, but like Darcy I'd give it 2 stars. Grave Witch was really good.
I managed to get my hands on Twice Dead, just haven't read it yet. I am hoping it will be better.I am waiting to get the second Grave book from the library.
I will probably use it for a challenge just so I read it. Sometimes that is what it takes for me to read something. ;)
