I had a hard time with Callum. At times I thought he was inappropriate with Bryn, but after learning everything about him and his abilities I both hate him and admire and like him. I know he was doing what he thought was right, but sometimes the right thing doesn't always sit well.
I think this book really set things up to be the first in a great series, or maybe that is just my hope!
I'm about 90 pages in and I like it, but Callum is going to probably do something to tick me off in a few minutes.
***Spoilers***(p. 94)
I think that Callum just lost some trust here. I don't know what the 4th issue is yet, but I think that if she's finally coming to him as she's suppose to within the pack structure then he shouldn't abuse the opportunity to force her into anything. If he lulls her into a sense of security before pushing her to far it would probably go better in the long run. Never take advantage when someone finally caves to your authority. You lose their trust and piss them off.

It has to do with condition number 4 doesn't it? The one that seems like it'll be the easiest to follow generally screws you in the end.

I like that Bryn is able to defend herself, is snarky and aggressive...
in other words, my kind of heroine.
Don't particularly like Chase...I think it's because I think he's her twin brother and it's making me uncomfortable.
I hope I'm wrong.

The pack relationships were interesting and I like some of the explanations of the bonds, but it started to lag the last 1/3 of the book.

So, I'm finally reading book 2 and I'm wondering what's going on with this book. It's not that it's bad or anything, but there's something about it that's put down"able". Maybe as I get further along that'll change. It's an interesting concept, but unless things change drastically with this one, it seems like JLB is generally forgettable as an author. I feel bad for saying it, but...

I feel like a lot of authors are like this. Yes I read their books, I even enjoy them, but they don't stick with me like my favorites do.
Is the third one the last one? Or the end of this story arc and things will be continued? It felt like they wrapped things up pretty well if necessary, but there's a chance to either continue in the future or do a spin-off. Although...
