Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments This is a different take on werewolves with teens and kids as a focus. The pack and their bond interesting. I liked Bryn right from the start, she was sarcastic and snarky, a human in the world of wolves, but that didn't stop her from doing what she wanted in that world. I liked that Bryn was so driven by her instinct to tell her what she needed to do, what was right for her and the people around her.

I had a hard time with Callum. At times I thought he was inappropriate with Bryn, but after learning everything about him and his abilities I both hate him and admire and like him. I know he was doing what he thought was right, but sometimes the right thing doesn't always sit well.

I think this book really set things up to be the first in a great series, or maybe that is just my hope!

I'm about 90 pages in and I like it, but Callum is going to probably do something to tick me off in a few minutes.

***Spoilers***(p. 94)

I think that Callum just lost some trust here. I don't know what the 4th issue is yet, but I think that if she's finally coming to him as she's suppose to within the pack structure then he shouldn't abuse the opportunity to force her into anything. If he lulls her into a sense of security before pushing her to far it would probably go better in the long run. Never take advantage when someone finally caves to your authority. You lose their trust and piss them off.

It has to do with condition number 4 doesn't it? The one that seems like it'll be the easiest to follow generally screws you in the end.

Mairead | 65 comments I love Devon.
I like that Bryn is able to defend herself, is snarky and aggressive...
in other words, my kind of heroine.
Don't particularly like Chase...I think it's because I think he's her twin brother and it's making me uncomfortable.
I hope I'm wrong.

Lisa | 35 comments This is a great book. I like how it is different from any of the other werewolve books I have read. Can't wait for the second one!!

Samantha | 432 comments I finished this one last week and generally liked it. Bryn had a refreshing voice and I loved her relationship with Devon. Callum was even interesting and I liked that more of the pack dynamic was discussed when he was around.

What I didn't like was...(view spoiler)

The pack relationships were interesting and I like some of the explanations of the bonds, but it started to lag the last 1/3 of the book.

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments Glad you liked it Samantha. You were right about your concerns. I just went with it.

Tya | 846 comments I apparently loved this book. Loved it enough to even write words down in a review loved it. I never write a review, I leave my stars and move right along, next please. But I've read my review, I've read others reviews, I've read this thread and I've read the blurb. I have NO idea what this book is about. Like. At all. No names, no plots nothing sounds familiar.

So, I'm finally reading book 2 and I'm wondering what's going on with this book. It's not that it's bad or anything, but there's something about it that's put down"able". Maybe as I get further along that'll change. It's an interesting concept, but unless things change drastically with this one, it seems like JLB is generally forgettable as an author. I feel bad for saying it, but...

I feel like a lot of authors are like this. Yes I read their books, I even enjoy them, but they don't stick with me like my favorites do.

Is the third one the last one? Or the end of this story arc and things will be continued? It felt like they wrapped things up pretty well if necessary, but there's a chance to either continue in the future or do a spin-off. Although...

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments I am not sure. It could be, yet the author could go other places.
