I can't recall exactly, but in the movie,Omega is supposed to be this low level dumb wolf, but if I remember correctly, the Omega Wolf is a very important part of the pack. They eat a variety of foods to make the pack seem bigger.

I have this book, the Spirit of the Wolf. I'll look it up.
Actually, that is the mid-ranking wolf's job. The omega wolf's job is defusing tension in the pack and minimizing in jury, quoting directly from the book.
@_@ Wow! But isn't the "Alpha male" the top?
The alpha male is the top of the pack with the alpha female. The alpha male is in charge of the males and the alpha female the females. They are followed by the betas. One thing that I don't like about most wolf role plays is that it does not follow that only the alphas can have pups.
They're trying to say it's funny but it isn't. It's so immature and I'm 14 so that's really saying something. And the animation... just... no.
The Omega wolf is ALWAYS the lowest ranked wolf in the pack. They eat last, they cannot have a mate, and are in general meant to be pathetic and probably pitied. The Omega wolf is not necessarily important for the pack;'s survival, and in fact, Omega wolves generally only eat scraps left over from the rest of the pack's meal.
