Word association game
Mohit, what's wrong with the word 'soccer'? Etymologically it's a word coined in the UK for the sport widely known as Association Football back then! The Americans use this word only to distinguish from Rugby which they call as Football.my word:
marriage
Aditya, you gave the answer yourself. 'Soccer' is what the Yankees normally use for 'football' so that they can call their own stupid game (American football which is not the same as Rugby) as football. A true fan will or rather should always prefer football over soccer.Anyways, my word --> exchange

i guessed so much....the word itself originated from the English and used by the English and the Europeans before they started casually calling it as "Football". So our 'campaign' should be against the use of the word 'Football' for the wrong game, not for the use of 'Soccer' for the right one!!!Am sure this conv. is amusing a lot of u out there, go ahead have a laugh :-)
my word:
dollar
Yeah, I guess we would need a separate thread to discuss more on this. My last argument would be as follows:FIFA --> Fédération Internationale de Football Association or even International Federation of Association Football
and then I'm sure recognize these abbreviations MUFC, Barcelona FC, ............
my word: rupee
