2. Mini-Cooper Turbo like in the Italian job. :)
3. I'd add some sweet dwarf on elf lovin' to the Lord of the Rings world just because I think it would add a nice embarrasing shade of humor to a rather bleak and serious world.

2) I did think about Thor's hammer (see above) but then decided it has to be a simple sword - wielded superbly and effectively by the hero, of course.

1. If you could vacation in any fictional world, where would it be, and why?
2. If you were forced to read the same book over and over each month, and allowed no others, for the rest of your life (that isn't religious), which would it be, and why?
3. Who is the scariest antagonist you've ever read about, and why?

message 118: by Marcus (last edited May 15, 2012 04:11PM) (new)

Marcus | 12 comments 1. The world of Harry Potter: because the magic in that world (now that the dark lord is dead) is just a lot of fun.
2. Book: Lord of the Flies because it's relatively short so it wouldn't occupy much of my month, it's set on a tropical island so it would put me in a relaxed state of mind, and because there is a great mixture of evoked emotions within: humor, sadness, fear, and hope. And the protagonist and antagonist are just great rivals. Also, the story itself is a great commentary on human nature.
3. Scariest antagonist: I might say Jack from the "Lord of the Flies" mentioned above because he represents the potential evil inside all of us if left to our own devices without "grownups" to steer us in the right direction.

1. What is your favorite adult fantasy novel and why?
2. If you wrote an epic fantasy series, who would be your hero?
3. Star Wars or Star Trek and why?

message 119: by Terry (new)

Terry Simpson | 261 comments 1. Wheel of Time. Just the scope of the worldbuilding, the magic, the battles and the plots.
2. Someone that was a mix between Lan and Mat. Except I suck at comedy so I probably could never pull it off.
3. Both. Pick anything about them. I love them unequivocally.

1. Why do you read fantasy?
2. Who is your favorite antagonist
3. Which species or race in any fantasy book scared you in terms of their power?

message 120: by Hilary (new)

Hilary (punchdrunklove) | 43 comments 1.) I read fantasy because for me it's a way to escape reality. It's refreshing to lose yourself in a good book and be OK with spending hours in that different world. It's exciting to read about different characters, places, and events that happen only in the genre of Fantasy. I find it enjoyable to be immersed into this different, magical place that was created by a writer. It's very intriguing and imaginative!LOVE IT!
2.)hmmmm...My favorite antagonist would have to be Sauron from LOTR
3.) The race that scared me the most in terms of power would be Noble Dead in The Noble Dead Saga

1. What character would you choose to be from the LOTR series and why?
2. What fantasy book have you read that surprised you? Did you like it or dislike it more than you thought you would?
3. What is the longest fantasy book that you have ever read? How long was it?

message 121: by Traci (new)

Traci 1. Eowyn, cause she's the most interesting of the female character and Faramir is also a favorite...

2. Tigana. I liked it, LOVED it, way more than I expected.

3. Instead of one longest book, cause I really don't know, I'll go for series. And that would be the Malazan series by Steven Erikson. Ten books that get bigger and bigger with each one.

1. What fantasy species, from any book, would you most want to be?

2. Pick a fantasy character you'd want to be best friends with. Why?

3. If you have named a pet after a favorite character, Who? If you haven't, Who would you name a pet after?
