Wow, 330 pages is a lot of pages to hate a character, I sure as heck wouldn't have finished that book.

I had to finish it. It was recommended by my friends so I felt the need to finish it, and to know how it was going to end. overall, it was a good book, it was just the heroine that drove me insane. The hero made the book okay for me.
Suzanne wrote: "Okay I think Bella from Twilight is probably the most annoying character I have ever read *ducks* Sorry, she was just too whinney for me..."I'm a huge Twilight fan, but I have to agree that Bella was very annoying.
Charlotte from Handle with Care by Jodi Piccoult. She was just bad... even though she managed to get it together a bit towards the end.
Pretty much all of Catherine Alliott's female lead characters annoy me. They're all so insipid and say stupid things and get into unlikely scenarios. Very irritating.
Off the top of my head: All of the characters in the Twilight series seriously irritated me. Listening to all four books on audioCD with the kids was torture, pure torture! Ivy in Kim Harrison's Hollow series is completely annoying and needs to die...twice. I could also do without Nathaniel in LKH's Anita Blake series though for awhile there I was ready to put a bullet in Richard.
Add my vote the the Bella Swan pile. I only read Twilight
but that was enough for me. I she would grow a backbone maybe she would not fall down so much!
I'm reading
, and I like the book but the protagonist, Jacinda, has a serious case of Bella Swan syndrome.
Oh, how could I forget her. She not only annoying she's also < ahem > easy (and I do use that word lightly).
The most annoying character I've experienced recently is Eugenie Markham from Storm Born. Ugh. I couldn't stand her.
Eh, to each her own then. How far did you get into the series? You might like her more as the series goes on.
She gets better as the series progresses, but Mac from book 1 of the Fever series is insanely annoying--so much so that I never would have continued the series if a friend hadn't assured me things would get better.
Galla wrote: "She gets better as the series progresses, but Mac from book 1 of the Fever series is insanely annoying--so much so that I never would have continued the series if a friend hadn't assured me things ..."I've borrowed Darkfever twice and both times it went back unread, couldn't get past page 30 or so.
Shay wrote: "I've borrowed Darkfever twice and both times it went back unread, couldn't get past page 30 or so..."If you're still interested in the series, try jumping in at book 2. Moning does enough recapping that you really wouldn't be lost.

Another of my dislikes is Zoey from House of Night. I can't stand the series, but I just keep reading them.
Angie (Mind Malfunction) wrote: "❥☪LIZZ NEILL☪❥ wrote: "Another of my dislikes is Zoey from House of Night. I can't stand the series, but I just keep reading them. "One of my BFFs has a similar problem. She keeps reading them, then calling me to tell me how awful they are. ^o^
Every female character in every sappy romance book I have read (no comment), and, Sookie Stackhouse and Bill Compton. OMFG.
I love the tele series but 80% of the time I feel like slamming their heads together. The reason? Well, Sookie is most appropriately named (oh I hate vamp'rs they ruin my life...so I'll keep hanging out with them!), and she's also very selfish (oh I can't choose between 3 super hot guys...I'll have y'all so you's keep fighting over me!).
And Bill? Bill is just a pain in the neck. No more needs to be said.
Sans- I have the same problem as your friend! I liked the first two or three of the House of Night novels and then they got progressively worse. But, I can't stop!!!
Zoe in The house of night novels. As I read the books I kind of wish she wasn't in the story at all.

Oooooohhhhhh, not knowing was driving me nuts.
Sans wrote: "I'm always amazed when I like a book but can't stand the main character(s)."I'm going through that right now. I love the story for
, but the characters are, imo, horrible. I can't stand them. Hate them, really. Why keep reading? Because I want to know what the mystery is! The concept is great, the mystery is driving me crazy (in a good way)! However, I'm actually rooting for the bad guy to kill off the two main characters. That happens rarely for me.
Sashana wrote: "It's a nice way of calling someone a whore since Santa usually says, "Ho, ho, ho!""Sashana's Pop Culture Course lives on! Yay! (I didn't know, either.)

Hehehe.
I had no idea either. I would have thought a Santa girl was a good girl. You know ya gotta be good to get presents? Thank goodness we have Sashana. We could get insulted and not even know it. Not that I'm suggesting me or anyone else would ever be called one.
Lisa Kay wrote: "Sashana's Pop Culture Course lives on! Yay! (I didn't know, either.)"Just trying to share the knowledge ;)

I guessed at it though I didn't know for sure, but only because my uncle used to say that Christmas was his ex-wife's favorite holiday cause as Santa says she was a ho, ho, ho. He's a peach my uncle...he's the same one who has called me Miss Piggy my whole life, even though he weighs nearly 500 pounds lol.
Most annoying character huh. Hmmmm. Recently, I have to go with the mindless twit in
She was so stupid that she nearly inspired me to violence against a library book. I wanted to reach through the cover and strangle the stupid out of her. I wished the other characters would stop saving her from her complete lack of self-preservation or common sense. I think YA books are slowly but surely trying to reverse Darwin's theory of evolution and survival of the fittest.
Stefani wrote: "I think YA books are slowly but surely trying to reverse Darwin's theory of evolution and survival of the fittest."**snicker** You are bad, Stefani!
Lisarenee wrote: "I had no idea either. I would have thought a Santa girl was a good girl. You know ya gotta be good to get presents? Thank goodness we have Sashana. Hello everyone. The most annoying character for me would have to be Kaia from Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld series. Couldn't stand her and when she got her book and poor Strider was hooked up with her I almost cried for him.
