Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) Chandloski, that's going to be the hardest part of the movie. Chemistry. Passion. And dare I say, fire?

Dan had a small but noteworthy role in the BBC's David Copperfield and the only other "child" actor at that time with any experience whatsoever was Tom Felton, who'd been in The Borrowers and Anna and the King. But yeah, Emma & Rupert were totally new.

And to be honest, Emma was probably the best, at least to start.

Rupert and Emma were both new, and they are the best :) At least as far as child actors go.
I agree, open auditions were the greatest things that happened to those movies. Especially Evanna Lynch. The role of Luna Lovegood seems like its written for her!

I thinks its awful and unprofessional that all these actresses are shouting about how much they want to play Katniss. Especially Jodelle Ferland putting up pictures of her dressed as Katniss on the internet: http://s3.twilightersanonymous.com/wp... http://media.onsugar.com/files/2010/1...
Ugh-all of these actresses saying they want to role are absolutely awful choices.
I hope and unknown gets it. I really, really, really do.

:O
No RDJ????
i agree with one of the above comments. Sherlock Holmes 2 has been filming already. THG doesnt start for a while.
Maybe he could fit it in? *sigh* I hope he takes the role.
For me, he IS Haymitch.
Upsetting about Hugh as well :(
And Jack Black...nooooooo. He is not Haymitch AT ALL.
Neither is Johnny Depp. HIm acting would be too much Jack Sparrow.

message 255: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments If they have whoever they cast as Katniss dress like that, I WILL NOT see the movie. Or if she is cast as Katniss, no matter how good the costume is. We really do need an unknown.

Th thing about Johnny Depp playing Haymitch as Jack Sparrow is that no, that's not ideal, but if you have to be reminded of someone.....for Haymitch, there are worse people. However, no matter how well he acts it, he doesn't really look the part.

message 256: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Rupert is NOW one of the best. Originally he was fine and had orange hair.

message 257: by ★ Jess (new)

★ Jess | 4295 comments Mod
Yeah, Haymitch isnt supposed to be really, really attractive :P

I agree. Emma overacted at the beginning, and then she kind of underacted. Plus, she's been so obnoxious in interviews from the get go. I remember my mom even saying once "If she was my daughter, I'd slap her."
Lol!

I'm hoping producers won't take dumbbums like Jodelle seriously when making casting decisions.

message 259: by Frank (new)

Frank As Jessica said, an unknown would be better than all of these actresses that have shown interest so far. Some may be able to pull it off and make it not horrible, but honestly, there is someone out there that is perfect for Katniss. Finding that someone might be a problem though.

Also, for that Jodelle girl posting pictures of herself...That's kind of pathetic.

message 260: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) Jodelle's Katniss pictures made me scaream "MY YOUTHFUL EYES" and roll around on the floor crying.
How desperate can you get?

message 261: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments And Katniss would TOTALLY wear Ugg boots, right? (did anyone else notice that?)

message 262: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Oh yeah, I totally noticed the 5,000 dollar clothing. It wasn't just the Uggs.

message 263: by Frank (new)

Frank She couldn't even get a decent sized bow. Real bows are much bigger, that one she has looks like a toddler's toy.

message 264: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments True. I bet it couldn't even shoot a foot. Some "amazing archer" she is if she uses that.

message 265: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Yeah. lolz. I say we boycott the movie if that happens. :)

message 266: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Deal.

Kate | 8205 comments Yay!

NOOOOOOO!!!! I dont want any of them.
I though Collins said she wanted an unknown?

message 273: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments No! NO! NO! NO! NO! Someone call Suzanne Collins/the producer this second!

Unfortunately, what Collins wants matters very little. Even if she wrote the movie, she has little to no choice in casting.

message 274: by Frank (new)

Frank I believe Collins lives in Connecticut, let's go protest.

message 275: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments I'm up for it; I don't have school and it's not too far.

message 276: by Frank (new)

Frank Well, it's far from here. Maybe I could shoot her an email. I doubt I will get an answer, but I got answers from a couple of authors before.

message 277: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments It can't hurt to try, and it would be pretty cool if you got an answer.

message 278: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments It would be, bnut wouldn't it be horrible if she just had a standard reply system set up? I think she is one of those authors who actually reads her fanmail though....

message 279: by ★ Jess (new)

★ Jess | 4295 comments Mod
Worth giving it a shot :)

message 280: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Most definitely.

message 281: by Frank (new)

Frank After doing a public person search, I think I have found her. Kind of creeperish. If the person I got is actually her, then I have her personal phone number. lol

message 282: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments I wouldn't use it if I were you. Although it might be handy just to have it, I would go with e-mail.

message 283: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Yeah, the phone number is probably someone else's. Go to her author site and find it on there. It's safer and has the accurate information- probably.

message 284: by Frank (new)

Frank Looking around, I can't seem to find her email. Some people say it's suzanne@suzannecollins.net. But, suzannecollins.net isn't a real site.

message 285: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) Erg, if they cast Jodelle or Chloe, I will protest the movie and flick Gary Ross.
If Kaya is Cast, I'll just protest the movie
If Hailee Steifeld/unkown is cast, I will send Mr.Ross some chocolate.

message 286: by Frank (new)

Frank Hailee Steinfeld doesn't really look like a Katniss to me. She is only 14 too.

message 287: by Kate (last edited Feb 02, 2011 03:02PM) (new)

Kate | 8205 comments She would be better than any of the others though. I completely agree with Guitar Chick-Dolly Dagger.

If you search Collins's site on Google I'm sure you'll find it.

message 288: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) Call me GC, it's easier, hehe.
And Hailee looks a lot older than fourteen to me. At least she doesn't look five years old, much like Chloe Mortez.

message 289: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments I agree. Hailee looks older than she is and Chloe looks younger. (I didn't want to offend you with a bad abbreviation ;D)

message 290: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments Wow, Jodelle is pathetic. I shake hands with you too. I really hope unknows are casts.

message 291: by Chelsea (new)

Chelsea Northrop (chelserz) just started reading this book its pretty good so far im in love with peeta but i also really like gale to

message 292: by ★ Jess (new)

★ Jess | 4295 comments Mod
Question: How do you guys want to the movie to start?

If I was directing, I would start with a sort of end-of-the-world montage. You know, a few minutes of buildings crumbling, fires, armies fighting, freak waves. While thats happening there are news-reporter style voice overs saying things like: 'Its been 24 hours since the unexpected tsunami destroyed over half the west coast of America' or 'the Michigan conflict breaks into all-out chaos, splitting the state into a miniature war.'
blah blah blah. That sort of thing.

Then skip to Gale and Katniss in the field, talking and hunting.
The skip to the Reaping, and so on so on. At least thats how I would start the film.

message 293: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) Cool idea! Lets see here....
You know what, I can't really think of a better idea. Nice!

message 294: by Frank (new)

Frank Very cool idea you got there. I think it would be cool if they started the movie in one of Katniss' dreams. For example, she mentions that she is always thinking of her father and the 'mine accident'. Don't know where they would go from there, but I thought it would be cool.

message 295: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) Of course, someone gets an idea

message 296: by Leanne (new)

Leanne (leanneisperf) I think it would be cool but as we all know they never start the movie the smae place as the books ergo Harry Potter Deathly Hallows ect. I hope they dont cut much out, but i know they will. :// I'm really afraid to go see it now that we might Have Kaya or one of them?!!

message 297: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) That's true. I think most of the book was boring except for the arena. Except maybe the opening ceremonies, but all the time at the training center and maybe the opening ceremonies will be montage.

message 298: by ★ Jess (new)

★ Jess | 4295 comments Mod
Then again, Suzanne Collins has written the screenplay, so there may be more romance in the film then we think...

message 299: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) AWWWWWW!
What I liked about the Hunger Games was that it was incredibly romantic without being too SAPPY! I hate sappy puppy love stories.

message 300: by ★ Jess (new)

★ Jess | 4295 comments Mod
I thought the romance was just a fantastically constructed sub-plot.
Thats why I liked it so much. The romantic aspect was overshadowed by all the other plot points and genres.
