idk about Kaya...she seems too "raw" even for Katniss. That could totally be my SKINS prejudice though - I *HATE* that piece of crap show. Hope there aren't any Brits out there who like that show, but it's bollocks.
Anyway, if there are any aussies out there (besides you, Jess!) who watch "HOME AND AWAY"
who is that young-looking brunette with blue eyes? I think her first name is Charlotte... she's my choice for Katniss. And H&A is like the stomping ground of Future Major Stars :P

We understand, Amelia -- I will be much the same this week, as I have midterms coming up in most of my classes.
I think Drew Roy will be the perfect Gale and peeta and katniss should be unknown actors--- its better that way. and haymitch should be that guy from house and effie should definitley be Kristin Chenowith

Finished with Amsterdam (weird city!) and London (EXCEPTIONAL!).
I am using the computer at 10PM in the hotel foyer. I have ten minutes between getting back from the sight-seeing and bed time.

I don't know... But I really like Robert Downey as Haymitch but I was just thinking maybe Johnny Depp? I think he could pull it off. But I still think Robert Downey.
I must say though I'm a little worried about the movie I just hope it wont be too bad. Don't get me wrong I am super excited for the movie just feeling a little bit scarred. LOL

And I see what you mean with Depp, and whilst he could pull it off, I didnt imagine Haymitch to look *anything* like him, and others (Downey Jnr and Laurie) could pull it off way better.

It's so hard to cast characters for Katniss and Peeta, and basically all the main characters. The problem is, no one is going to be exactly like them- so its almost impossible to find the right actor or actress for them. I hope that it's a good movie though- Suzanne Collins is writing the script (I think) so it shouldn't be that bad. :)

I heard that the mayors daugther might be Taylor Swift. But I havent read the books, i just love T Swift.
Mmmmm.... I really can't see Taylor as Madge. I think that would just be weird.
Hmm- that is weird- I like Taylor, but she seems too old to be acting as Madge. And, I don't know, Madge is a minor character, and casting Taylor as her might just steal the attention away from Katniss. :)
Agreed -- plus I always pictured Madge as... Well, plain. Taylor is abnormally tall and has unique hair, so I think she would be too distinctive as a character like Madge.
I kind of pictured Madge like that too. She was a minor character, so I guess Suzanne Collins didn't really get around to describing her that much. :)
I remember her being blonde-haired and blue-eyed, but I think she was described as relatively plain...Then again, it's hard to cast movie stars who are
"plain", I've noticed. You rarely get one that looks like a real person.
yeah, it's sad. and I can not see taylor as madge. the only way to counteract thaT AND GIVE KATNISS MORE ATTENTION WOULD BE TO CAST A MAJOR STAR AS KATNISS- WHICH WOULD RUIN THE ENTIRE MOVIE. ((sorry bout the caps lock, i mustve accidentally hit it when i was typing.))

Personally, about Johnny Depp as Haymitch, I think we need someone that can look as if he is the drunk of the "neighborhood" with bigger bones. Feeling as if I know him now, it's going to be hard to cast.

B) Madge is a minor character, and stars do not play minors
C) she is a terrible actor (seen valentines Day?)
I hope no teen-stars like her, Cyrus or Bieber are even remotley considered.
If one of those sort of stars was cast, I wouldnt even see it.
if beiber was cast at all, i would shun the movie and never go see it. Cyrus maybe.

I think Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine should be Annie. She's pefect for the part. She could also be cast as the red headed Avox as she's a ginger, hehe.
Okay, I just watched 5 minutes of an episode from season 2 of "SKINS." that's all I could handle. Umm...ick. Anyway, if Kaya is cast as Katniss, I will NOT see the movie out of a personal protest. Somebody that nasty should never be Katniss. Ever.

what about Sarah Bolger for Katniss? She has amazing acting experience - she held her own with all those veteran actors (read: old people) in THE TUDORS. She'd be great!

Unknowns are the only way I would be happy with katniss, Peeta and Gale.

Peeta should be the guy who played Duder in StarkidPotter's Little White Lie web series.

William Mossley? I can definitely see that working. However, I would prefer unknowns cast into the 2 main roles.
Panettiere or Argon? Again, I disagree. Lesser knowns must be cast as all the tributes. There is no way ANY of them can be well known. They should all be first timers.
What about Sean Bean as Haymitch? I don't agree nor disagree about this casting, but his looks match my thoughts on what Haymitch should look like.
