May I just say that I think the Katniss poster with bruised lip looks like Jennifer Lawrence after the fight scene in Winter's Bone. Pretty cool editing from that scene I think.
I can't wait to see who they choose for Cinna!!!

Well, i never found Madge overly important, but it might leave a few plot holes/changes

Yeah, Madge isn't all that important, but since she isn't in the movie they do have to make a few changes.
I don't have an issue with that. Someone else is going to have to give Katniss the Mockingjay pin though. I believe we see her twice.
Yeah, it said that Katniss had the pin all along and gave it to Prim for her first Reaping. Prim pins it back, and when Rue dies Katniss pins it on Rue. When Katniss comes back victorious D12 presents her with a new pin. I don't really like the change, but I guess I'll have to see it in action. :/

other forums on entertainment sites have people ranting about how everything is messed up and she was really important and they're ruining it and she should be in the movie because she has a pivotal role to play etc etc...

Katniss owning the pin works as well. It doesnt matter how she gets it, as long as its visible in the arena.
Does Katniss give the pin to Rue when she dies in the book?
....I'm not sure....I need to reread the books anyways, but does anyone else remember? I think she does, but then I think she also has it after Rue's body was taken up.
In the book, she makes the crown of flowers or whatever and gives Rue the peace sign of her District. She keeps the pin in the book, in the movie, she gives it away. I think that Jennifer doesn't match what I had in mind, and this is a magazine cover so it's extremely airbrushed, but I think with her acting chops she can pull it off. It's Liam I'm worried about. And Cinna, I need Cinna casted.

Jennifer actually matches my picture of Katniss really well. She'll be great. My main focus is on Cinna, and Peeta and Gale, 'cause I don't like Josh and Liam for the parts.
Peeta I can live with- I know that Josh is a good actor so I'm sure he can pull it off, but Liam...he's not my image of a Gale at ALL. And he doesn't seem to be a good actor- but I've only seen him in one thing (The Last Song) so I'm not a truly fair judge on that...
Portia and Octavia have been announced! Portia is Latarsha Rose. Octavia is Brooke Bundy.I'm really not happy with Liam or the pin thing or Madge being written out. But Jennifer looks more like Katniss. I might be okay with that.

Just saw this article, and I love that Jennifer knows the character so well.

Yeah, same. I think she'll do a great job, but I'm worried that Liam will kill the movie for me. :/ Also dying to hear what a Capitol accent really sounds like. ;)

I don't think they're going to do any accents. It's too complicated, and not really that important.
How do you pronounce Katniss? There are lots of ways!
Cat-miss, only with an "n" instead of an "m". I would have thought it was quite clearly phonetic. How else would you pronounce it?

NO...they seem to be keeping that under lock-and-key, but they're gonna start shooting soon so we should know within 2 weeks.

Toby Jones is Claudius. Apparently, he's the voice of Dobby from Harry Potter. I'm okay with this, but still moping over Cinna.

Although I think Toby Jones will make a great Claudius. He was also in Ever After, if any of you have ever seen that...
And I'm pretty happy about not having any of those names. We just ended up with a couple bad people for our adults.

I cant picture it.
BUT! We all saw the terrific transformation of Jennifer Lawrence to Katniss Everdeen, so MAYBE there will be a spot of hope?
But still nothing like a pictured him.
Katniss was one thing- we knew how easily Jennifer could be transformed through the power of diet and makeup and hair-dye. But with our Cinna? I'm not so sure. And he doesn't look 'normal' enough to me- which i know can be fixed (and the gold be put in easily), but still. And I can never picture guys changing as easily as I can with girls.
