I have to agree with you there. I do like Colin Morgan. Ian Somerhalder is too 'Hollywood' for my taste.

I'm not sure I understand lol

Hollywood has a mould that all actors have to fit into. After a while they all look the same, very Brad Pittish. I can't tell them apart. Boring. The British and Australian actors are allowed to have far more character, the women especially.

Ahh yes I can see that. Personality wise though Ian is far less than Hollywood.
But I agree. The British and Aussie actors are generally more diverse.

I liked Ian Somerhalder in LOST. I was so sad when they killed him off.:(

I can't say that I've seen him in anything. I was basing my assessment purely on his looks.

@Gail. He has some done some amazing roles. Worth checking out :)

message 162: by Kim Marie (new)

Kim Marie | 894 comments Eric Bana was the perfect Henry De Tamble for me....but I already knew that he was more than just a comedian from his performances in Munich and Black Hawk Down. He's managed not to be typecast at all! As a dyed in the wool Trekkie I even thought he made a wonderful villain as Nero in the new Star Trek movie lol.

Hey Bella, welcome to the group. I went one a driving tour of Victoria BC, the Grampians are beautiful. (I also managed to catch a game of AFL, in Geelong, Gary Ablett (senior) was playing, I forget who the opposition was, Geelong managed to squander a huge lead to lose on the bell. It was fun anyway.)

Snape is so awesome, and kind of have a massive 'old guy' crush on Rickman =P
My evil cat would love some fairies, though she's way too fat to bother with them, hence why I have to chase the Cockatoos off the balcony myself =)

Awesome :)
I used to play sweeper as well-in my first 2 years of soccer. Then I moved to Right defence. I wasnt very good at either. Probably weakest player in the team I would say.
At the start of this year-seasons finished now-we got a new coach, and he moved me to defensive midfield.
I got three goals for the season (including one in our Grand Final) and set up plenty.
I also came top three in our best and fairest count :)
I guess changing position was a great move.

EDIT: that sounded super boastful , and I apologize

6. Spot in Australia: I grew up on the Sunshine Coast, but have lived in Newcastle for most of my adult life. We've travelled to many places that are all unique and beautiful in their own ways - cities, beaches, country towns etc, but there's just no place like home.
7. Team/Sport: Newcastle North Stars Ice Hockey!!!
8. Car: At the moment, my little pulsar 'cos it just keeps going! Love the new Mazda but my husband is hogging it.
9. Animal: my pussy cat
10. Activity: reading (!), shopping, going on holidays
11. Things to collect: traditional silver charms for my charm bracelet. I try to buy one each time on holidays as a momento of where we visit. I've also inherited my mother's infatuation with 'Old Country Roses' though am yet to buy anything - I just keep conveting her collection!

message 188: by ★ Jess (new)

★ Jess | 3071 comments You played against an American side?!?! Thats so cool, how did you go?
And I know what you mean about tough games, after woods you just feel dead. And its even worse if you loose (Our Grand Final was a TOUGH game. 2-2 then, Extra time, then penalties. We lost. However it wasnt the toughest all year, that would go to the time we came back from 4-0 down.)
Anyway, got on a little rant there :S

Yes, I played indoor soccer before I played outdoor soccer.
Yes, it is incredibly fast, and Veeerrrry tiring! Im not sure if I enjoyed it better, but both were fun. It gave me an excuse to both defend when tired, run through the midfield and score heaps of goals :P

Water Polo...we played that in P.E class at the aquatic Centre this time last year.
It was super fun, but also incredibly tiring.
I think I would like to play for school, however whilst I am pretty fit for soccer, I dont think I could stand water Polo.

1. Time of Day: Free time! Time to read. Time to exercise. Time to hang with friends. Time to chill.
2. Food: Pasta in all of it's various forms and serving suggestions.
3. Drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic): Alcoholic would be midori and non-alcoholic would be water seeing as I kicked the fizzy drink habit.
4. Band/singer: Nightwish
5. Actor: Johnny Depp. Actually, no. I never say Hugo Weaving even though he is in three of my favourite films so Hugo Weaving.
6. Spot in Australia: My bed! I really need to see more of our beautiful country.
7. Team/Sport: I've been told I'm un-Australian because I don't like sport. :'(
8. Car: I also don't know cars. I like my car. I named it Lady Car Car.
9. Animal: My Siamese Fighting Fish is pretty cool and I miss my dog (RIP). As for beyond my own backyard, llamas amuse me.
10. Activity: Reading and following Slender Man stories online. I'm so lazy right now because I'm recovering from a knee injury.
11. Things to collect: I have a rather small collection of badges and a collection of stones and gems. Remember Nerds? The Wonka lollies? Yeah, I used to have a collection of those that were in weird shapes...

★ Jess | 3071 comments I love playing in the rain! To bad you got beaten, but you kept trying! Ive never been kicked in the shin, but If I was you id probably have quit, so good work!
Our Grand Final was played in such conditions. The field was just mud. There was NO GRASS what so ever. Usually its a great pitch, but not that time.
By the end of it we were all covered in mud, head to toe. We must have looked like mud people, some people even had it on their faces!
The score was 2-2, and we lost 3-1 in a penalty shootout (I score the only penalty that day). And it was heart breaking to loose, but such a fun day.

Good luck with your water polo!

Kurt Hi Kurt, I'm intrigued - you collect conversations -now that'..."

Yes I do like to collect conversations. Because so much of my contact back home is by typed correspondence, it's quite easy to copy a transcript of it into my computer to view at leisure later. This can help a lot because often it's at some crazy hour like 3am and I forget what I've said. And Plummer also played a magnificent role in The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus.

message 192: by ★ Jess (last edited Oct 26, 2010 04:34AM) (new)

★ Jess | 3071 comments Collecting conversations....now that is interesting....
Im sorry, but I like that a lot.
I myself, have some saved conversations from MSN or the old days when I had facebook. And I agree, they are hilarious to look back on. To laugh yourself silly, think about how wrong you were on a matter and to remember great (and forgotten) memories.

But collecting the, Im fascinated.

Christopher Plummer is a great actor, yes. I prefer him in Sound of Music, but he was great in the Imagenerium.
The movie itself was good. I got lost and confused towards the end, through the first hour was very good.

I posted a YouTube link over in the music thread if you want to hear some symphonic metal from Finland. :D

Well, as far as I know there are no Slender Man comics but... you may have just inspired me. Ha ha! Slender Man is a scary internet meme that stalks people. People write fake blogs about having experiences with him and some people actually film their stories and post them on Youtube. It gets pretty Alternate Reality Game-y. I do have plenty of web comic recs, though, if people were to want them.
