Getting to know you - A Fun 'My Favourite Things' Quiz

Carmel, I'm sure he'll be happy wherever you put him. He looks so cuddly, bless him.

1. Time of Day: 5-8pm right from when I pick up my baby girl from daycare to feeding her dinner, bathing her and then settling her for her night sleep (and that's when I do most of my reading, because settling can take up to one hour with the big night feed!).
2. Food: Ooooh this is tough as I am a foodie! But I must say I LOVE the simplicity of Miso Soup, can't get enough of it!
3. Drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic): Tossing up between green tea and hot chocolate!
4. Band/singer: Again tough one but Joni Mitchell (the Blue album) is my ultimate favorite!
5. Actor: or perhaps Actress? I love Cate Blanchett, I've seen all of her movies!!!
6. Spot in Australia: Canberra--home so far (as I haven't explored Australia enough to tell which one's my favorite)
7. Team/Sport: I am the wife of an Arsenal nut, so that makes me a Gooner, too!
8. Car: Toyota Corolla Secca, and oldie but goodie!
9. Animal: A tiny pomeranian that I had to leave in Jakarta with Mum :(
10. Activity: Currently studying
11. Things to collect: Books!!! (Lame answer, I knooow).
There you go, now you know me a little better now :)

Yes that's so true Carmel. Each morning when I go into the nursery to wake her, she would seem to be a little bit longer, chubbier... it's almost like she does all her growing overnight. And not to mention the new tricks she'd master coming home from daycare. This week it's blowing into the spoon and the bottle (which is giving me a lot of pain but Thank God it's funny).
Sorry for rambling about my girl, classic new mummy syndrome!

Adhityani, that's lovely that you enjoy spending time with the little one. They grow up too quickly. I bet you can't wait to get home to her.
I've always wanted a little pomeranian. One day, I'll adopt one from a pound. It must have been hard leaving yours behind. I left England to come to Australia when I was twelve and we had to leave our little dog behind. That was so sad.

1. Time of Day: Morning. Especially in summer. I just love summer mornings!
2. Food: Wow, that is a hard one. Maybe chicken breast.
3. Drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic): I used to be a diet-coke addict, but I've pretty much given that up. I like a nice cup of hot Milo in the morning. Alcoholic drink would probably be either Banrock or Brown Brothers moscato.
4. Band/singer: My musical tastes are pretty eclectic and I generally like songs rather than artists.
5. Actor: I don't have a favorite.
6. Spot in Australia: I've not really been out of South Australia so I'm sure there would be more, but right now I'd have to say the coast down at Port MacDonnell.
7. Team/Sport: I don't follow any sports.
8. Car: I don't have a favorite.
9. Animal: Cats. I wish I could have one. :(
10. Activity: Reading and just spending time with my hubby.
11. Things to collect: I used to collect elephants figurines but I gave that up a few years ago.
I guess I sound pretty boring! lol

My collection started when I came across a figurine at a rock shop in Texas carved from stone of a mother elephant with a baby elephant inside her. The mother's body had holes in it like lace and the baby inside was perfectly formed. Just fell in love with it and had to have it, and it grew from there.
But I passed my collection on to another elephant enthusiast a few years ago when I ran out of room and decided to I needed to downsize. :)

My Favourite...
1. Time of Day: Depends - mornings on weekends are good but not weekdays. I enjoy my evenings these days too.

4. Band/singer: Don't really have one, I enjoy the music of the 50's, 60's and 70's mostly. Creedance Clearwater Revival was a favourite band.
5. Actor: I loved Patrick Swayze and Mel Gibson but now it is Matthew McCononaghy (not spelling it right) and I also like Colin Firth

8. Car: I would love a mercedes
9. Animal: I love cats and have 4 at home

Bronwyn, I also love to walk. I live on the Mid Nth Coast of NSW, but eight years ago, we lived on the Sunshine Coast and I used to regularly walk from one end of Coolum Beach to the other. What a fantastic place the Sunshine Coast is. We lived there for eight years, but moved back to NSW to be nearer to family. I do miss the hard, wet sand for walking on as I have knee trouble. I used to jog, but can't anymore and the Sunshine Coast beaches were perfect for me.

Looks good Jessica! I'm so with you for #1!!!!! How did you get to like Lemon, Lime & Bitters? It's one of my favs too!!:)

For #1 I especially like going outside on a clear night. I feel like the only one in the world :D
Yeah, that's a great feeling, isn't it!!! Didn't know there was a non-alcoholic one, Jessica...not that the alcohol is much anyway!!:)

I do know in the shops you can buy a premade one that's free of booze though.
Yes, the alcohol is negligible..I would imagine the one in the pubs/restaurants would be the alcoholic one tho:)

But pubs sell boooze that's their main income! hehehe
Now I want one :o

Happened to me in Hawaii...They had alcholic free beer so I ordered one because at the time I was under 21 (there legal drinking age)..And the woman asked how old I was..I was 17. She said okay...Walked away but few minutes came back saying she couldn't serve it because it actually DOES have some alcohol (0.01% or less) and my Dad stepped in saying 'It's fine. She can have it.It's not much at all.' She still outright refused.
if you buy lemon lime and bitters in say a restaurant its got alcoholic it in but its so little that miners are allowed it but if you buy it in bottle form its not the alcohol one
well thats my work anyway
i used to drink it all them time when i was younger too...used to wonder how many you would have to have to feel the alcohol lol

i thought the law was they cant serve you alcohol but if you parents buy it and then let you drink "their" drinks its ok but they cant actually give it to you

Lol...I used to wonder the same thing. I seriously wonder how many..Probably throw up from drinking too many because your full of drink than effected by the booze..ahaha
yea probably get more of a sugar high then anything hahah

Laura, Ferrets are cute and I've seen them kiss their owners, but they are meat eaters, so are more smelly than guinea pigs and rabbits. I wanted one, but they don't get along with guinea pigs. They'd probably bite them as they eat rodents. LOL. Not!
A cat attacking possums? That’s quite common. I work on a wildlife rescue hotline like WIRES. It's called FAWNA. We get calls all the time about possums being attacked by cats, but sometimes the cat gets bitten or scratched by the possum, then they need to go to the vet.
Hey, Laura, you wouldn't like my latest children's book: Molly Gumnut Rescues a Bandicoot. In this story a baby bandicoot is mistaken for a rat and attacked by Molly's neighbour's cat. Her grandmother is a wildlife rescue carer and she insists that when the bandicoot's wounds have healed it has to go back to it's own territory. Molly doesn't put up with that, 'cause that's where the big black cat lives. When no one listens to her, she is yells at them. She’s rude to the neighbour, her parents and the vet and gets grounded for a week. Then just before the bandicoot is to be released back to find it's mother, Molly kidnaps him and takes him on an adventure to find him a safer home. Of course, she ends up putting the bandicoot in more danger as well as herself. But I can't say what happens next as it would spoil the story for anyone reading. It’s available as an eBook and is coming out in paperback in June. I’ll probably get a few bad reviews from cat owners, but I don’t show cats in a bad light. I love cats.
Laura, guinea pigs only fall in love with a male piggy if there's no females around. LOL.
We considered getting another mate for Boofhead when his last partner died, but he's old now and needs so much car with all his old-age ailments. He wouldn't take kindly to another guinea pig taking his food. Plus I have a bad back and so does my husband. We have to pick a large back of fresh grass for him every day as he refuses to eat hay anymore. (Spoilt brat) As well as that, we have to clean his cage everyday as it's in the lounge room and he needs a bath too as he sometimes has incontinence, (Just like old humans.) Then there is his aches and pains. He now has Bumble Foot, so his getting treatment for that.) it never ends. Palliative care for a blind guinea pig. Oh, I forgot to answer the question about his blindness. He went blind at the age of three. The vet said it was common in inbred guinea pigs. We rescued Boofhead and Teddy from a rural supply store that sold pet food. There was a man going to but all the guinea pigs to feed his pet snake, so I bought two. My husband wouldn't let me buy them all. I think they were being bred for food, so probably inbred. I think Teddy was probably Boofhead's brother as they were from the same litter. (Oh, not only bi,)
