Oh Gail! Good on you...:)

It might explain why I sometimes feel like a fish out of water in a reading group. ▪sigh▪
@Brenda- Only live once I say! :p Gotta try once.@Carmel- 4.5% to 5%.....Now I am up to 5 beers...mmmmm.

I murdered things in my game :D!!
Laura wrote: "Chicken/Strawberry snags are very strange....."OMG! That's a really weird food combination!
Oh golly I'm a huge fan of maths and science - we have to make sure our children can at least not waste their hard-earned income on tarot readings and paying more for groceries because they don't know how to calculate unit price! But - snags are sausages? Chicken/apple are good.
@Mandy- Very :x However, you couldn't see any starwberry in the sausage though :(@Cheryl- Yep, snags are sausages :) Apple/chicken i think would work a lot better than what i tried last night.
Just finished another batch of tomato sauce :) Only had half the amount of tomatoes as last time, so I only got 4 bottles of sauce :( But oh, it's so yummy!!! People say 'is it worth it?'...everyone in my family says YES!!!
Carmel, just opened your choc chip cookies...so very yummy!! Delicious, many thanks once again!! :)

That reminds me of Kath & Kim. Didn't Kel have a butcher shop and used to enter the most outrageuos sausage 'flavours' into the snag competition? :)

I don't know LK Madigan but will look out for her books when I buy books for my teenage grandchildren. Laurel

Haha..prolly! I wish that show was still on. Did you ever catch the US remake?
No, but I have heard it was really badly done.

*Jessica* - When I was at school Science was pretty much a subject for boys only. I've become interested now I'm older and looked at some of my hubby's science magazines. Science is all around us! It only means what makes the world work. It depends of course on your teacher, textbooks, curriculum, how interesting your particular course is.
My earnest recommendation is to read Bill Bryson's book, "A Short History Of Nearly Everything". Amazing and entertaining. I would not have believed anyone could get me interested in the internal structure of the atom, but Bill did. It's a long book, but enjoyable and easy to read from end to end. Just to make the point: my husband is 71 and it's the first book he's read completely through in his life!
Wishing you the best in your studies,
Monya (aka Mary)
Monya, Ive got A Short History of Nearly Everything on my shelf at home. I plan on reading it, one day. In the distant future. It looks interesting, but there are thousands of fiction books I want to get though first :)
But I do like drama better.
I just got back from The Adelaide Fringe, which is amazing :)
Tonight I had a beer called Vergina....I'll let your imaginations wonder on that. I actually didn't think anything 'of it' until my sister picked up an empty bottle and said 'Really?'LOL
It's not an Aussie brew..It's Greek so it can be forgiven I think ;)
There must have been some confusion in the translation. One can only hope. :P
Gail "cyborg" wrote: "There must have been some confusion in the translation. One can only hope. :P"LOL!!!
Yeah, gotta wonder about that!
Carmel wrote: "FYI ladies : Vergina (Greek: Βεργίνα) is a small town in northern Greece, located in the prefecture of Imathia, Central Macedonia."Hahahaha XD Thank you for that! Now if I get in poop for it I can just spout this out!
Tee hee, it was better when it was lost in translation.

Lol :P It's easy as ABC! :O
Agghhhh.....! One of the down sides of working night shift is not being able to sleep. I usually go many many hours without sleep for my 3 or 4 night shifts (ie maybe 4 hours sleep a day), then when i have days off cant sleep. I must get over tired I guess. Also my body (and mind) has been trained to stay awake no matter how tired i get. And sadly tonight I'm too tired to read but not able to get off to sleep. BUT luckily I can catch up on all the Goodreads news - havent checked in for a few days.
I'm an insomniac - it started a couple of years ago and now I catch up with Goodread news, reading and writing while the rest of the household slumbers on.
Sheesh, I just received this message when a new friend replied to a message.
If this author is harassing you about a negative review, please flag this message to report him. Do not reply, it usually doesn't end well.
Has anyone seen this message before? I have a few friends that are authors, I'm sure this message hasn't popped up with my communications previously. It could be something new of course. The communications between me and the author in this case was nothing to do with a review. So far all my communications with all GR friends has been very positive. I found this message a little off putting.

It is a little odd. It's as if this particular person has been a problem in the past and has been flagged.
It wasn't in relation to one of our group members.
(thought I'd better make that clear)

:o Never seen that message before,Gail.Saw an old work friend today while she was dropping off her kids but I had to rush off to the class I was working in so I couldn't chat much.
Otherwise..Is it night already? I'd like to go to sleep, please.
Would you believe it..I've only been gaming in the afternoon lately :DI've got a blastid cold or some sort of cold that won't leave me alone *frighten colds with meds*
Poor Laura. You better wrap up warm and go to bed early! I bet it's chilly down there in the evenings!;)
@ Gail..I've never seen that message before either...
@ Laura..dose up on vitamin C..we all swear by it. Felt a cold coming on Thursday, fed myself Vit C every few hours, for 2 or 3 days, and only had it for one day, Friday! We have vit C daily to 'ward off colds' and it seems to work pretty well..:)

FYI. I have done some further investigations. The message is an alert that appears for all author correspondence. No need for me to eliminate the author as a friend just yet. :)
