My other half tried to pick it up and dropped it back in the car! Needless to say, the jacket i was wearing hasn't been used all day as it was contaminated!!!

No worries Tracey, you write wonderful poetry & I did leave comment some time agao on the one you posted in 'poetry corner' & I don't mind poeple 'playing around' with styles, I do to, but when they write & call something eg. like Haiku or a sonnet & the said piece is not, well that erks me some....(-:

My partners dad got bitten by the same red back twice, it went down the back of his shirt and he said it was worse than when he had his heart attack :/ I HATE spiders!!! Terrifying LOL
Haha, no Emily I was far too uncoordinated to pick up any circus tricks - although I do know what to do if confronted by a lion, which I'm sure will come into use any day now ;)And David I can totally agree with you that people who label their work as some kind of formal poetry style when it patently is not is extremely annoying. I never claim to be a formal style poet - as I said mine is free form to be enjoyed or not as the case may be. I really write poetry for me as opposed to my books where I do think about the reader.
And I'm with you on the spider thing Amber, I hate the wretched creatures. My husband though is like Michael, if they're not dangerous he just takes them outside **sigh** [despite my pleas for vengeance at their very existence lol.]
I have a couple of frantic days ahead of me getting ready for the launch of The Kaynos History Tales but I'll pop in when I can.

Thanks for the explanation, David. It explains why the first thing that struck me about your poetry, many weeks ago, was that it was devoid of the errors in scansion that I've come to view as ubiquitous, but that still annoy me. Sounds as though your Australian competitions demand more metrical precision than it is currently the fashion to bother with. And you may be right... Contemporary music has gone the same way with rhyming and meter, and that annoys me, as well.

Good luck Tracey with the preparation of your launch, as well as the numerous other things you have to do!

Thanks for the well wishes Brenda and Amber. I'm feeling fairly confident about the new release but you never know until it's published how well it's going to sell but I will be able to have this available in print form as well so that may add a few sales.I'm feeling a little more shaky on my upcoming Mythology exam - it's Monday morning [tomorrow] and I'm not feeling as prepared as I normally like to be. I'll try to do some cramming for the rest of the evening - wish me luck :)

I don't think you have anything to worry about.
Back from the exam **whew** and feeling a lot more confident now. The material was familiar to me and I think I probably did well so thanks for all the well wishes everyone :) I get the results back next week so I'll let you know how I go.As soon as I get home I'll be formatting the anthology for publication this afternoon. That'll really relieve the stress factor.
Hope everyone has a fantastic week!
Tracey - Congrats! Glad the stress (well, that particular stress) is off. Formatting is just labor-intensive, but totally under your control. You have a great week, too!

Tracey wrote: "Haha, no Emily I was far too uncoordinated to pick up any circus tricks - although I do know what to do if confronted by a lion, which I'm sure will come into use any day now ;)..."Want to share some lion facing tips? Is run screaming in the other direction a good or a bad move?
Meant to say Brenda how do you manage to put pics up of books and title to add to the list if they are not there? I am currently reading Micky O's biography. Also I wanted to add Kaleidoscope my collection of poems.
We were forced to play Aussie rules at school as the school was to small for a rugby team, I was captain 3 times & selected to play for Queensland in one of the 1st schoolboy comps. Still never really liked Aussie rules & today's game when they have a little push & shove then take a dive to milk a penalty, nearly as bad as soccer. I like a real game with real hits especially state of Origin.
When confronted by a lion, I believe it's best to:1) open a wormhole, and emerge into another galaxy (not populated by lions)
2) reboot, and start another life that fails to include safaris
3) regurgitate copiously, in the hope that the stench will drive the thing off
4) pray, and then look for a lamp post
These helpful suggestions have been brought to you by CoWW (the Coalition of Witches and Wardrobes).

Dale top right hand side of this comment box it says 'add book/author'. Click on that, then type your book title in the search section, click on 'search'...when your correct book is there in the drop down selection, click 'add' and it will appear in this box. For choice of title link, and book cover link, before clicking 'add' look down the bottom of the drop down box, and you'll see 'link' or 'cover'..click on your choice, then 'add' and there you'll have it! Hope that's clear:)

Other than Mark's suggestions, my grandfather always said to make a lot of noise and even throw rocks and things at them. According to him lions, especially male lions, were basically cowards and backed off if faced with any form of aggression. Having never been in that situation [and hoping I never will] I have no idea but I think I'd probably try to open a wormhole to another dimension :)
Finished formatting and the book's now live. Exhausted but happy :) Taking a couple of days off then back to work on a new book, a mystery/thriller this time - never published one before so wish me luck.
On the home front Robbie and I think we may have found the right house - it'll be close to MIL's work, near my sister and with all the conveniences nearby. See what happens.
Again, congrats Tracey...you've worked hard for your result! Enjoy your couple of days off, and I can't wait for your mystery/thriller:) It'll be wonderful! Good luck with the house too, hope it's yours!

I should say I'm not the brightest when it comes to computer stuff.
Thanks Brenda & Margaret :) It'll be fun to dip my toe into another genre for a change & if I don't like the way it turns out I still have The Raiders Saga sitting waiting to be written. The house fell through... again! Our offer was too low they said. Oh well, we have to stick to our budget, no point getting into debt we can't afford. The right house will turn up and it's not horrible here even if it is a little crowded.

You need to be a librarian to add books Dale. If you have any to add, go to our thread here http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/7... and put all the information you can find, ISBN, page number, title etc. and one of us will put it into the system for you:)

When we were looking for a house we made three offers. At the time when the first two were knocked back I was really disappointed but the third one which we got is so much better! So now I'm really happy we missed out on our first two offers :)
Hey Everybody. Last night I went to see a Shakespeare play- Richard the 3rd. It was really good. It was on at the Maitland Playhouse across from the town house on High Street-- In case anyone leaves near there who would like to go. It costs $15. It is definitly worth it! Its on tonight at 7.30pm or tomorrow at 2pm.
Thanks for the heads up Mickey - I don't think I've seen a good Shakespearean production for a long time now more's the pity.
You're welcome. It's like a modernized version. Like the Romeo + Juliet with Leonardo Dicaprio, how its set in the modern era but with the Shakespearean words.
Tracey wrote: "Thanks for the heads up Mickey - I don't think I've seen a good Shakespearean production for a long time now more's the pity."It'd be a bit of a traipse for me (15,527 miles, according to google maps -- which also instructs me to "take a kayak across the Pacific Ocean"), but it's always good to know. Perhaps I can find a kayak at a garage sale. Now is the summer of my discontent made glaringly infernal by this sun of yuck.
"...sun of yuck????" I'm pretty sure the Bard never used a phrase like that Mark. Now I have to dig out my copy of The Complete Works to find it lol :)
Actually now that I think of it was 'the summer of my discontent' from Dickens or am I barking up the wrong tree?
