Hi all! (Or anyone who happens to read this.) I saw the note that we're supposed to comment here. I'm Scott Morizot. I'm in the US. My kids range from 27 to 42 and my three grandkids are 2, 6, and 20. They are certainly the most important thing about me from my perspective but likely of less interest to others. ;-)

I recently started supporting the podcast and thought I should finally check out the different places in Discord and on Goodreads where people interact. I'm not even sure how long I've listened to the podcast. I was a pretty early fan of The Guild (and very long time Buffy fan) so it was probably either through the Geek & Sundry S&L video show or the Vaginal Fantasy series Veronica did. I watched both as they came out (and the latter was basically livestreamed if I recall correctly) so either could have introduced me to the podcast. I don't remember which came out first. I support an array of things online, so I can't really say why I only recently started supporting the S&L podcast. Ah well.

I was hyperlexic as a child. (I can't remember ever not being able to read and likely read before I started speaking. My mother realized I could read when I was 3.) And SFF became a special interest/passion for me by the time I was 10 or so. So that gives me about 5 decades immersed in it. I don't prefer one over the other. I love them both and don't mind them overlapping at all. I enjoy hard sf as much as a space opera romp. I like high fantasy, urban fantasy, and everything in between. I enjoy explorations of character, beautiful use of language, plot, worldbuilding, philosophical challenges that force you to question assumptions, and pretty much anything else. There are exceptions, but most SFF authors who get published have something to offer and I can usually find a way to engage and appreciate it. But I lean increasingly toward things that are doing something that feels different than most, like the current pick, though I often re-read old comfortable books as well. I tend to look for reasons to like something than the opposite.

I guess I've rambled enough for an intro. No idea how often I'll interact, but I'll be around.

I’m Michael, and I’m a huge fantasy and sci-fi fan. I live in Las Vegas, and reading and writing are my two biggest hobbies. I am also an avid DM/GM, and used to have a public-facing art studio making dice at Lowe Mill in Huntsville Alabama.

I also love writing (I said that already), and would really enjoy discussing with other writers and authors here! I am almost done with the first fantasy book that I plan to query.

Just popping in sometimes to comment. While I have tons of "free" time it's being allocated for many things. Audio books are my primary method, typically series, mostly suspense and thrillers but there's a ton of science fiction and fantasy - check out the list on my read list here.

Hi everyone, I'm Joseph.
I saw the name of this group and I immediately joined. I love to read and play video games with fascinating stories. What attracts in fiction are books with multiple layers of meaning hidden within. I sell wine for a living, and that made me sensitive to the small details of nearly everything. Contents, characteristics, origin, relationships, differences... so world building fascinates me as well, especially when food and drinks are included, they say more than one can possibly imagine. My favorite authors are Orwell, Dostoevsky, and Gibran.
