Election sounds good, and I'm glad you now have a slot for another Evanovich. I love the Stephanie Plum series!

It works!

Kathy G. wrote: "Is this book Black and White Enough?

No, It should only be black, white or greytoned. The first thing I notice about the book is the red. I'm going for the black/white tv vs. the technicolor look. Sorry.

Sarah (Mood Reader) (bookworm1887) | 458 comments I LOVE this task! However I just made it harder for myself because for my Second Chances task I am going to read 500 pages of children's books with bare feet on the cover. IF I can find them!

Thanks!

chucklesthescot I rolled 6 for the high school setting. Does it have to be a normal high school or would a school for vampires work? I'm thinking of PC Cast House of Night series ieBetrayed or Vampire Academy Frostbite (Vampire Academy, #2)

Yes, it will work.

No, it needs to be a first name.

No, it needs to be a human H.S.

Aleksandra, I think I may have misinterpreted your question, when I replied it wouldn't work because the setting was 1811 -1812. I thought you were asking if it would fit the 1960's setting task, but after looking again, I think you meant the male names. It does work with the My Three Sons male names task. The semi-colon and 3 after 1960 fooled me, because some people use them to make smiles. Sorry for the inconvenience.

message 73: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 8947 comments ahh, nut! I realized I screwed up and since I rolled a 2 and a 5...that is a 7...

question for you...when talking about the cover...what if the publisher (i.e. siren books) brands everything the same (a red banner top and bottom), but the cover itself is actually black and white...or does the whole thing have to be...

i.e. not that i can find an example right now...lol!

message 74: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Hickman (lbhick) | 1527 comments @Dee

I won't say no to the publisher's branding label until I see it, since the label is not a part of the cover art. My intent is to remind you of black/white t.v., so the label should not be large enough to detract from the cover.

Also, your 2 & 5 roll allows you to choose the black/white, plus color cover option OR stick with the original programming. You decide which you'd like best to do.

ironically...the book I was thinking for using for "2" also has a black/white/grey cover...

I would love if
Sin Undone (Demonica, #5) by Larissa Ione would work (but I understand if it doesn't)...the publisher ruined a gorgeous cover with the stupid writing on it...

This is my back up...

4. The Vampire Diaries
Read a book with a paranormal character.
Grave Secret (Harper Connelly, #4) by Charlaine Harris
Grave Secret (2009) by Charlaine Harris (Hardcover, 306 pages)
Harper survived a lightning strike that left her with the ability to track down dead people and sense the last moments of dead people.
Does Grave Secret qualify for "paranormal character"? (since sensing the dead is a paranormal ability) Or ... does Paranormal have to be something like a werewolf? Thanks!

Penny, you are suppose to use the random dice generator and then read a book that goes with the related number... You said that is the one that appeals to you the most, but did you role the dice? Did the book you read for the 1960s part correspond with the number you got on the dice?

You are not limited to the 2010 shows. With your snake eyes roll you can choose any two shows, both of which may come from 1960.

A quick glance at your TBR and I saw books with high school settings, animal titles, etc....Just take a look at the books on your TBR or at books you own and see if they fit any of the other 11 shows.

The answer to the first question is yes. The answer to the second question is probably. I guess I would need more info, like the book title to say yes for certain.

I've posted a few "bee covers" in my reserved spots (message 2 & 3). I'll work on adding more covers to fit the Andy Griffith task over the next few days.
