I used to love Skippy, the bush kangaroo, as a kid.

The Code had ended...hmm...that was uhm...interesting..sort of felt like a rushed ending but I'm not sure how long they could of teased it out either.
I'm finishing up with the first season of House Husbands. Do any of you watch that? And I'm watching the first season of All Saints.
I thought the Code was very boring. House Husbands is so-so. There are a few exceptions, but I don't find that Australia does drama very well these days. I love The Time of Our Lives, Date Night, Rake, A Place to Call Home and Wild Boys was excellent, but of course Ch. 7 would not renew something cool like that! Winners and Losers is rubbish and don't even get me started on Offspring. I haven't tried Wunderland yet, but after Offspring, I haven't been game enough to try homegrown Ch. 10 dramas. The only decent sci fi we have ever made here was Farscape and they didn't even air all of that here in Australia, we Aussie fans had to wait for it to be released on DVD. I am a much bigger fan of scripted British shows than I am of Aussie ones. We should aspire to be as good as the Poms with our telly. I suppose that is why I enjoy A Place to Call Home. It's an attempt at our version of Downton Abbey- a show that I adore!

I like House Husbands as it's easy viewing. Never watched All Saints Dina, maybe an ep here or there ;)
Hi,I enjoy watching ABC's Breakfast as presented by Michael, Virginia, Paul and Vanessa. I think it's not only well presented and informative, but they are very human with a genuine sense of humour.
Cheers
Paul.
Rewatching 1408, one of my favourites."You know why I can stay in your spooky old room, Mr. Olin? Because I know that ghoulies and ghosties and long-legged beasties don't exist. And even if they did, there's no God to protect us from them, is there?"

Sorry...it's taking me so long to reply! I enjoyed House Husbands. All Saints might be my favorite Aussie show. Or maybe it's tied with Offspring.
Kiera wrote:The only decent sci fi we have ever made here was Farscape and they didn't even air all of that here in Australia, we Aussie fans had to wait for it to be released on DVDI wrote a blog post recently about the lack of Australian science fiction. Are the characters Australian on Farscape or do they have American accents?
And yeah...we've been watching BBC lately, though not drama.
I do personally like Aussie drama, but I do wish they had more science fiction/fantasy.
I liked more Aussie shows when I was a kid: the Man From Snowy River comes to mind. And Police Rescue. Both incredible shows. Where has that sort of quality and imagination gone?
Currently working through Parks and Recreation - hysterical show, like American The Office but better somehow.
I'm digging up this old thread....What are people currently enjoying Aussie or not?I just started Glitch tonight.....I also wanted to start watching Human but missed the first episode on iview :( I also watched the 1st episode of Utopia again on iview...Show makes me cringe but it's so meant to do that...lol

Bosch is good but I'm still not sure about Titus Welliver...he seems a bit luke warm to me?
I also thought Last Tango finished up with the wedding so am really pleased they made another new series. Also looking forward to a new series of Dr Who starting soon :)

I read somewhere that Last Tango has another series in the offing after this one!
I feel the same about Titus Welliver. And there's too much time spent in the bedroom. But apart from that I am enjoying it:)

I am huge movie buff and I love TV series as well. I personally love Australian movies, the TV series can be better, although I think they've been improving. Some of my favourite Aussie movies are the Castle, Lantana, Gettin' Square and Three Dollars. One of my favourite series of all time is Love My Way. I prefer series that are shown on ABC or SBS, which are the only TV channels I still watch occasionally. I've enjoyed Time of Our Lives, Rake and a few others.
Did anyone watch the Glitch series? I finished it on the weekend but couldn't help but feel they rushed it so it could fit into a certain amount of episodes. I think it had an interesting story but with too many characters for so little episodes.

Given how much of their budget ABC has lost, it's surprising they produce anything at all.
@Bianca - True..Maybe that's why the series was so short...I thought were more like the UK with series having 12 episodes. Ah well.--
On a very different note...Been catching up on TMNT 2012 and they changed Leo's voice for the 3rd time...They changed it to Seth Green and I usually like him as an actor but as Leo and the last voice...Urgh...Not good. Almost makes me want to stop watching the series. Jason had a much better voice and sounded more like the original guy..Seth is completely different!

Australia makes the best horror movies in my opinion. The Loved Ones and Babadook would be the ones that scared me the most. Was surprised to find out Babadook was supported by a kickstarter fund, so glad it raised its money as it freaked me (without being overly gorish or sick)I've recently watched The Librarians and Upper Middle Bogan, both were hilarious with 2 seasons each. Written by the same couple (not sure if they are a couple or just a writing duo). Upper Middle Bogan has just been released on Netflix - main thing I miss about my subscription to Quickflix was that they tended to add a new Aussie comedy on a monthly basis.
^Im late to the party but theres actually a third season of The Librarians So what has everybody been watching lately?
Nothing Australian lately for me....Watched Narcos, Orange Is The New Black, Luther, Mad Dogs (s3) and I'm finally getting to the last season of SoA.
I've not been watching anything Aussie either. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Switched At Birth, Texas Rising and random episodes of Burn Notice, Las Vegas and Escape To The Country on Foxtel.

Haven't watched season season of Fargo yet...I hated watching it bit by bit last time..I have plans to binge it..haha
Laura wrote: "Haven't watched season season of Fargo yet...I hated watching it bit by bit last time..I have plans to binge it..haha"Binge watching is definitely the way to watch TV series isnt it :)
Finished of the last season of SoA...I...don't have words for the ending...I moved onto catching up with latest season of Bones, Modern Family and The Simpsons. Finished of the canned series Rush (US)...Making my way through 1st season of Broadchurch now.
I also finished off the mini series The Ice Cream Girls...Really quite enjoyed that...I never realised it was based off a book...Kinda interested in reading the book at some point in time now.
So much more to catch up on...Haha..This is what happens when you stop watching stuff for ages...Bah
A friend saw The Dressmaker on the weekend and said it was really good. Apparently Winslet's Aust accent is done well.
Laura wrote: "Finished of the last season of SoA...I...don't have words for the endingSo many TV series, so little time LOL
"Finished of the last season of SoA...I...don't have words for the ending... - AGREED!!!
Making my way through 1st season of Broadchurch now... - I really enjoyed this - LOVE David Tennant :)
zoey- He is very good in this so far :) I think I'm half way through the series and it's got some great acting in it.
**oops hit enter too quickly on phone**@Zoey - Yes sooo many...Almost too many shows! Haha
What the heck with SoA though!?!? Did the writer just not know how to end an actual series or something, you think? lol

I dont think he did or ran out of ideas maybe?? Terrible ending for a great series. Huge lead up to the ending with Gemma & Juice etc then that!!?!!
It's a shame when a great series just ends on such a flat note. And yeah the Gemma/Juice thing also got to me too...I put off watching the last season for quite some time and in some respects I wish I had of for longer. Oh well..What are you currently watching?

Oh Arrow...I binged that on an airplane but otherwise I've not kept up with it.Did you read the comic at all?
Never watched the Castle before...Good show then, huh?

No never been a comic book person.
Yes I Love Castle, binge watched the 1st 6 seasons & have been waiting for 7 to come out on DVD.
Laura wrote: "Haven't watched season season of Fargo yet...I hated watching it bit by bit last time..I have plans to binge it..haha"You're in for a treat, only 3 or 4 episodes left. I wish I could binge this season, but I'm addicted. No way can I wait anymore than a week for another episode.
^ Looking forward to it :) I can understand not wanting to wait for it all in one lot though.-
Finished off a mini series called Mob City...I think it somehow got canned because it left of cliff hanger...Actually it was based on the LA Noire book...It wasn't bad but it kinda felt a bit thin too.
Really slow but finally I finished off the last 3 episodes of Underbelly: Squizzy...Taken so long cause the series just didn't grab me like the others did.
And somewhat up to date with TMNT nick series.
The first season of Broadchurch was great..Not sure when I'll see the second season though.
Somehow I am getting on top of shows but it doesn't feel like I am either..lol
I don't watch teeve (as they called it in 'He died with a falafel in his hand"), but I'll put in another vote for The Dressmaker. Saw it yesterday and it was brilliant!Used the Hollywood polish but didn't let it dilute the Australian raw. It had the top notch acting of Winslet, Davis and Weaving but a lot of wtf weirdness that Hollywood could never manage on its own.
