Ben Langdon | 11 comments I'm just getting back into Goodreads after dropping out for a year or so to focus on writing. I really miss the reading challenges and the chance to meet/connect with authors, readers and reviewers.

I'm a writer of superhero fiction, including The Miranda Contract by Ben Langdon and The Adventures of Charlie Conti Small Sacrifices by Ben Langdon .

I'm an editor of short stories like This Mutant Life by Ben Langdon and This Mutant Life Bad Company by Ben Langdon .

And I'm a reader, currently reading Lagoon. My favourite book is To Kill a Mockingbird, closely followed by a bunch of books that jockey for position, including Hold Me Closer, Necromancer, Past the Shallows, Clade and most recently the epic Buffy-esque novel, The Rest of Us Just Live Here.

I've got a website at www.benlangdon.net and have recently opened a shop where I encourage others to get stuck into board games and activities that get more face-to-face time. https://www.facebook.com/Imagination-...

Oh yeah, and I am a comic book reading addict.

Good to meet you all!

J. (jlinz) Hello, all! I've actually been on Goodreads for quite some time but finally noticed that I was able to post my writings to share with others! I believe you can see my whole name on here, but I usually go by J Linz!

My reading list is all over the place, honestly. It would be easier to list the genres I read: romance, fantasy, science fiction for the most part. I'm currently familiarizing myself with Harry Potter (I know, seventeen years later...) and I've read books like the Divergent series as well as The Hunger Games. I usually go by my sister-in-law's suggestions so I'm also currently reading Sherrilyn Kenyon books.

As far as what I write: I'm mainly a fan fiction writer, usually DC and Marvel. I have a few original stories on my hard drive and I'm in the process of slightly revising them (so, I'm not a published writer but an amateur one). Right now, I just posted my Camp NaNoWriMo project entitled Changes.

I look forward to meeting a lot of people and enjoying this group! :)

Briane | 2 comments Hi everyone!
I am Briane from Australia! Full-time university student & part-time worker. Recently discovered my love for reading & here I am.

I read wide array of books from business/motivation/ psychology/ philosophy (non-fiction side) & fantasy/ magic/ adventure/ mystery/ crime (fiction side).

I initially loathed reading when I was young, but I as I got older I realised the value of knowledge and the unique experience each book contain. And I heard reading can improve writing & speaking skills , having English as my second language ;)!

I want to be able to write tonnes of blogs & articles someday! Looking forward to know & learn from you all!

-Briane R

my name is Annette and I'm a translingual person - I'm an American born in a German body. I have recently published my first novel "The Way Of Life" in English. Genre? Impossible to tell. One reader suggested to call it adult Christian romance, which I thought quite funny - and fitting.
I'd love to get in touch with other writers and readers of course and am looking forward to discussions in this group.

Kells McPhillips | 3 comments Hi everyone!

My name's Kells and I'm an NYU student studying Media, Culture and Communication. I'm an aspiring fiction writer, and I currently write for a publication called Everup.

I'm also an avid reader (perhaps to a fault since I often read to procrastinate from writing). Right now, I'm reading The Handmaid's Tale (for its painful relevance), Daring Greatly, and a galley I got from work. I can't wait to explore this group further and get to know some of you ;)

Warmly,
-Kells

Rosemary Cole (rosemarycole) Hi, I’m Rosemary. Thanks for having me and thanks for all you do, mods!

I’ve always loved reading books and writing, but now, at around the halfway point in my life, I’ve decided to become an indie author. I’ve just self-published my first sci-fi novel: The X-Variant, a tale about a time-traveling girl and a zombie apocalypse.

I’ve loved science fiction and fantasy since I picked up my first Roald Dahl book when I was about eight. My favorite series right now is Justin Cronin’s The Passage. Favorite authors: Ursula Le Guin, Olivia Butler and C.J. Cherryh, the great women of sci-fi!

Before becoming an author I also spent some years editing other people’s books, so if you’d like to pick up some grammar tips in an entertaining fashion, come on over and check out the Grammar Peeves series in my blog.

Joseph Cognard (jcognard) | 3 comments Hi,
Newbie. Struggling author here, I struggle at and with other things as well but you all don't need to hear about that.
Four books four different genres, not sure why just worked out that way. Out of all the genres I found writing comedy the hardest. I'm not funny so it was probably a bad choice.
Anyway looking forward to conversing with you all.

Steven Moore Wow! This seems like a seriously old group.
My name is Steve Moore (Steven M. Moore as a full-time writer--the middle initial separates me a wee bit from other Steve Moores). I'm first and foremost an avid reader (anything that interests me), but I've also written many books (see either my website or my GR author page). I have an active blog and Facebook author page too.
I review books, but I do my "official reviewing" at Bookpleasures. I review books I read for R&R occasionally, but only if I like them well enough. I don't believe in star-rankings and hate one-and-two-line Amazon reviews. The review of my latest book can be found on Feathered Quill--they also interview me.
I'm a mongrel author--partial DIY (indie) and traditionally published too by a small press.
I won't do much promotion beyond that. Everyone here is capable of making their own decisions about what they read. And I'm happy to meet everyone here.
r/Steve

Hi, CeDany, and welcome to the group. A small correction, I'm the group moderator (A. F. Stewart, also known as Anita); we don't want to confuse any Pamelas in the group. I don't allow trolls here, and I do try to keep an eye on things as I lurk in the background. So if you have any trouble let me know. Also I have no problem with babbling, I've been known to do myself. Do check out the Group Navigation folder though, to get a feel for how things are organized in here.
And that restaurant you mentioned, it sounds like the Five Fishermen; it used to be a funeral home, and not only housed some of the dead from the WWI Halifax Explosion, but the Titanic as well.
