Welcome Judy, it's lovely to have you with us! I'm not an author either, only of book reviews;) Hope you enjoy the group!

My name's Nicole and I'm from central Vic. I'm a writer of Urban Fantasy and paranormal books and I'm also a part time grocery merchandiser.
I read a lot of different genres, but my favorite authors are all Aussies! Garth Nix, Isobelle Carmody, Kate Forsyth, Ian Irvine....
Glad to be a part of a group that's close to home and looking forward to seeing what you're all reading : )
Feel free to add me as a friend as well!

I'm Joanne, from Adelaide. I'm a very kean reader, i pretty much read everything and anything from fiction to non fiction, but not Twilight or 50 Shade of Grae. Of course, i did read those two series, just to see what is the fust of it. I didn't get it, and guess willk never get it. Maybe i'm a touch too old for those highly unrealistic crap story, but at the same time, i do enjoy New Adult Fiction.
I'm on my 29th book of the year. hoping i can keep up with my goal, to read 100 books for this year. I think, i'm doing good so far. :)
Wish we could form some sort of social book club in Adelaide, to meet ones a while, to exchange books and stories about books and life. After discovering the wonder and beuty of EReader, i don't think i will able to survive without a book or, ERader on my hand in a daily bases.
Happy easter all. and happy reading.

Welcome Joanne, lovely to have you with us:) There are quite a few of our members from Adelaide, and you'll see a South Australian thread you might want to check out... http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/4...

I've just joined the group after being on Goodreads for a while. This is my second post...I couldn't help myself & filled out the how Aussie Are You checklist one first. I live in the Blue Mountains & read almost everything (except sci-fi). I'm looking forward to being exposed to a whole lot of new books through this group.

What can be better than having a book under the bed cover on Good Friday? ;)
Happy reading.
Welcome Kristy! Lovely to have you with us:) A beautiful area you are from up in the Blue Mountains:)

Well my names Scott, I live out near Woodford (where they hold the Woodford Folk Festival) and I have been reading since the young age of 6. The first book I read by my self was Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (even then only the left hand pages, because I was wanting to finish before someone else I knew that was reading it)
I like mainly Fantasy and Sci-Fi but will read just about anything. I recently got an android tablet so I am practically inhaling books while traveling to and from tafe. That being said there is still nothing like the feel of a real paper book.
Well enough about me, I can't wait to get to know some of you on here; always looking for new books to read.
Hey Scott, welcome! It's great to have you with us...feel free to check the group out, and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask:)

I don't have particular genre I prefer, although I am drawn to Literary Fiction. I prefer to follow authors than themes, and have a huge love for Stephen King, Barbara Kingsolver, Cormac McCarthy, Anne Rice, Ian Rankin, Matthew Reilly.
I live in tropical Townsville and the love of my life is in London.
That's me!!!! :D

Im a displaced Aussie up in Shanghai. When I hear an Aussie accent in the street I get homesick! Nice to find a Goodreads group dedicated to us

I've not read many Aussies writers in the pass months. Looking forward for some great Ausies books again. One of my favourite genra is the Rural Fiction. Reading about Rural community of Australia, it, is, just, fantastic. :)
Happy Reading.

On being an Aussie writer, I cant really say I write about Australia. All my characters are Asians (Japanese/Korean or Chinese) living in Shanghai. Im sure there is loads of over fiction out there with asian characters but when you turn on the TV in Aus, all you see is white australians, in the US it is dominated by white Americans and African Americans. Im not saying this is a major problem, I just thought it would be different to focus on different minorities. Plus the children here in Shanghai are a little different. They are the focus of the entire family and are pressured and spoiled like mad! (hence the ideas for most of my sick and twisted stories)
Lee, did you come across the Aussie author spotlight section yet? http://www.goodreads.com/topic/group_...
If you go there, and make your own thread, you can promote your work, supply links to your book/s and generally get us interested;)
