Rhiannon Douglas (rhiannondouglasaus) | 4 comments Hi All

I'm Rhiannon, in Mount Gambier SA :) I love fantasy, thrillers, sci-fi, mysteries and general fiction. I'm in the middle of unpacking my book collection in our new house and finding all of these gems that I want to re-read.

I love everything reading and writing related :)

Welcome Rhiannon, lovely to have you with us:) I'm originally from SA, and lived in Mount Gambier from age 7 until my late twenties. We still have family over there, and we visit now and then:) Small world!

Hi Ellem I'm ex central Coast now Wollombi. Love to hear about any Central Coast writers as I have just turned my hand to it. I can't find any other writers using the Central Coast or the lower Hunter in their books.
Let me know if you find any please.

It's amazing how many people I encounter that used to live here. Almost all of those who moved away say it was the weather, and almost everyone I meet who moved to here also say its because of the weather!

We moved away because of work...my most favourite place there is the Blue Lake! It's brilliant at this time of year:)

Eliza (elizajk) Hi everyone, I'm Eliza. I'm 21 and from Inner Melbourne. I adore it here and honestly can't see myself ever leaving. I'm currently studying a Bachelor of Arts Languages, majoring in French and Japanese and Minoring in Latin and Linguistics. I love studying. So, so, so, so much. I work at and manage an EB Games store, but I don't play video games. Don't talk to me about video games, my eyes will glaze over and I'll hear static noise.

I've been on Goodreads for a while now, but only recently really started to utilise it. I read most genres of books, but I especially love modern and post-modern literature and historical fiction; particularly anything to do with War. And text books. I love text books.

Kirsty McGregor (kirsty_mcgregor) | 3 comments Hi Aussie Goodreaders,
Just wanted to drop in and introduce myself... I have only just joined Goodreads and this group looks great.
I am a Queensland girl and although I am currently living in France, I am heading back to the UK for the summer then back home to good old Oz for good...

I am an avid reader of all sorts of genres but am finally living out the dream of writing and publishing my own work. I have spent the best part of a decade travelling the world as an overland tour leader and am now writing about those experiences in the form of humorous guides to group travel and overlanding - with plenty of real stories and funny anecdotes from the road.

Looking forward to meeting with Aussie readers and writers...

Kirsty McGregor (kirsty_mcgregor) | 3 comments Too funny! I get the Kirsty/Kristy thing all time. Doesn't worry me.
I am putting together a suggested reading list on my website about travel... Under continents (ie. Latin America, Africa, Asia, North America etc).
Doesn't necessarily have to be about travel just set in a country/area that gives you some insight into the place...
Any suggestions?

Can they be fiction books? I'm thinking The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency (No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency #1) by Alexander McCall Smith series by Alexander McCall Smith - really captures the essence of the African continent (even though they are specifically set in Botswana - I've only been to West Africa, but these books make me feel like I'm back there!).

This is the wrong thread for this discussion guys, I think if you could head over to Book Related Banter http://www.goodreads.com/topic/group_... and make a new thread on the topic Kirsty..then you could have a full discussion with other members participating:) Just re-post what you're suggesting Kathryn:)
