Hi Jasmine. I agree, that library looks divine. :) Georgina.

I am a convert to ebooks but that library sure is enchanting. I could sit there and read my ebooks!
JB :-)
I'm besotted with my kindle too, but they don't cancel each other out (ebooks and physical books). Except that my kindle reads my manuscripts back to me....Now that's love!
A very big welcome Despina! Lovely to have you with us:) Feel free to browse, but do ask questions, if you need to, as there are many of us who'd love to answer them!

Ah,my first preference for reading books is via audio books. A Kindle that reads back to me would be just dandy. At present I am using the PC app and I do not think it has that function.

Welcome Alice

It's the text-to-speech option. The voice is odd. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it as an enjoyable read, but it certainly points out mistakes.
In my current manuscript (errors now fixed) my kindle told me that my sorcerer's skirt was stained, Esha stiffened a scream, and that the hounded bounded. Now my copy editor would have picked up these mistakes, although many readers before haven't. The problem is skirt and shirt are so close, the computer doesn't pick it up and after a while, as a writer, your eyes glaze over and you miss the mistakes.
And I just picked up five, free Zola books for my kindle (titles that I have been searching for for ages)! What's not to love?

Hi Alice. :) Georgina.
Hi Alice. :) Georgina.

Hi Alice,
Welcome. I see you left some images behind when you returned to the UK. Does that mean you will be returning? JB :-)

My name is Bruce Gregor Hodge, a 51 year old writer with a few ebooks recently released and hoping to share them with others. These days I'm writing a fantasy series called Scarpthorne, but I also like writing mysteries and suspense, and will read just about anything I can get my hands on!
I've spent the last few weeks struggling to wrap my head around facebook and twitter and blogs and smashwords and amazon and .... with the upshot that at the moment my brain is a bit like a bowl of spaghetti, so if I ask a few questions that seem a bit simplistic that's why!
You want to hear a small world story?
I was invited to join by Georgina through the world wide web, and in doing so realised that we were virtually neighbours!
Thanks Gina, catch you for a coffee shortly!
Hope to meet you all soon, how great to find an Australian authors forum!
Cheers all,
Bruce
Hi Bruce! Yes, incredibly small world. I'll phone you this morning. Do you know Eirlysa from Cobweb Designs? (You know, Susan F M R's lovely gallery). She's creating the cover for my next book. Eirlysa has an author/illustrator page now on GR too, so that's three from our neck of the woods.
Hey did everyone hear? We've lost Bob Brown! He's retiring from politics, leaving us with Gillard and Abbott! Ahh! He's from our town too, so I guess we will be seeing him about more, but to me it feels like a big loss for Australia.

We are about an hour south, home of the Gourmet Farmer (Mathew Evans). You might have seen the series?

I have always loved to read and write and spent most of my teens writing poetry and short stories. I discovered online books about a year ago. It has been a large part of my life ever since.
I am new to Ebook publishing and have so far had two short stories published one as part of an anthology and one as a stand alone Novella. One is set in the US but one is set in Western Australia feel free to check out my work here http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...

Hi Leighton,
It must make life interesting to be 'just a little crazy'. JB :-)

Kate Loveday books include - Inheritance, An Independent Woman, A Liberated Woman,(The Redwood Series), Reflections.
We have both recently joined Goodreads and enjoy the interaction of the groups.
Kate has her own Authors page on Goodreads and publishes her books in both Paperback and eBooks.
We hail from Adelaide and consider ourselves very fortunate to live in Aust.
A very big welcome to both you and Kate, Pete! Lovely to have you with us:)

Yes, aren't we lucky to live in Australia?!! Every day I thank my convict ancestor for stealing that roll of material that got him flogged and transported. (Poor boy.)
Welcome, Pete and Kate. I haven't been here long and sometimes I am so busy I can't hang out here but I love it! JB :-)

My name is Margaret Lynette Sharp and I live in Sydney.
My husband, Ronald Sharp, who is known and esteemed for his organ building work, especially the Grand Organ in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House, have worked together to publish a total of six books in 2011 and 2012.
With five years of writing studies successfully completed in my younger years, and egged on by Ron, I chose to embark on a new venture: book creation.
Little did I realise that, within two years, we'd end up with six published works, of two genres. Even less did I anticipate the difficulty of marketing them.
Our titles are: '25 Stories of Life and Love in Australia', 'A Taste of Life and Love in Australia', 'The Essence of Life and Love in Australia', 'Reflections of Life and Love in Australia', '60 Questions, Insights and Reminiscences', and 'Long and Short Australian Stories'.
I'm taking a break from doing books, but still enjoy posting articles of my WordPress blog.

Welcome Margaret :)
