A few years ago, some American friends were holidaying down here, went into a bank, stood near a customer desk and had a bit of a conversation. A helpful (older male) employee walking past said casually to them "You right?"
We met them at the pub that night, and they told us this story, most offended. We all looked at each other - why are you offended? "he was asking us if we can write!"
Nooooo... he was asking you "are you alright?" Meaning "Can I help you with something?"
Another example of two nations, separated by a common language.

I'm Jozef! Here in Brisbane, I'm currently enjoying a gap between graduation from a degree with the ANU and either a commercial/M&A law stint domestically or an Oxford DPhil pursuit depending on application outcomes over the next few months! :)
Also reading a lot & bootstrapping some traction for a global voices blog/shop brand being grown with talented friends!
Hoping to connect with you guys and to be able to immerse myself in your discussions both as a reader and a self-published author with nothing but a message - hoping to defy the odds and get Syzygy well-regarded and out in the public view without selling out (heart, soul, & everything!) to the contemporary distribution giants! 😂
