Welcome to the group and good luck with the iPad hunt. I read on my mini and on a Sony Reader (no backlight, so good outdoors). And I read on my phone if I'm in a waiting room somewhere. It's surprising how a good story will draw you in no matter how you read it.

Where are you based?

I'm remote up in the Pilbara, so far have been to The Gold Coast, Sydney, SA, and that's about it. Still lots of places to see, if only it weren't so expensive to holiday in my own country. lol

Carolyn | 9865 comments Hi Jody. I lived in WA as a teenager and my Dad worked in Port Hedland for 2y so I spent my school holidays up there. We did a few trips into the Pilbarra - very beautiful rugged country but hard to live in I imagine!

Put it this way, our library is only open 9-1 so with my work hours, I can't go. So I rely a lot on goodreads, and going without lunch to get to the library to grab the books I want!

It's a small world Carolyn :)

Hi Jody! We're in NSW, but we moved here from sixteen years in the Pilbara (Tom Price). Don't you just love that red dirt and spinifex? :) And the smell of the rain coming? May well be feeling just a tiny bit homesick right now...

Michelle Irwin | 5 comments Hi everyone :) I'm Michelle, I'm from North Brisbane. I love to read a bit of everything. My hands-down favourite Aussie series ever is the Tomorrow series by John Marsden. I also loved Looking for Alibrandi when I was in high school, it was one of those pivotal "I need this book in my life" books for me. I also write, primarily romance (contemporary and paranormal). I don't get nearly enough time to do either reading or writing most days around my work, but that's life, right? Look forward to chatting with some of you, although I'll be the first to admit I tend to be a bit terrible at popping into groups as often as I should.

Welcome Michelle, lovely to have you with us! We'd love you to tell us a bit about your writing too; we have a special section for our authors here - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group... - go to the top right hand corner where it says "new topic" and click on that...follow the prompts. Then you'll have your own thread to tell us all about your books!
Enjoy the group and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask:)

Melissa (Mel’s Bookshelf) (melsbookshelf) | -37 comments Hi Michelle and Suzanne!!

He doesn't exactly read yet but he makes me read it to him and points at all the pictures and words and I am fairly sure he is going to be a reader like me!! :)

There are only so many times you can read "Where is the Green Sheep" and "Hairy Maclary" without going a bit batty!! Great books, but I have already read them at least 10 times each today!! He has a big book collection already, but he LOVES these two! Think I might need to expand it some more :)

Bronwyn | 49 comments Hi All! My name is Bronwyn, I love to read and have enjoyed giving that gift to my two boys. I tend to read a lot of YA at the moment as I work at a school and have access to the library! Otherwise, my tastes range far and wide. I always have a book or two on the go and am looking forward to joining in the challenges and exploring some of the books and genres others are reading. I live on the Tablelands in FNQ.
