Marren | 764 comments Oh dear, I have not read half of Austen. Much of the above would keep me busy next year. Who would give me that fantastic gift :D *thinking*

Samira | 3 comments Hey what is a Juvenilia? It is like short stories or what?

Works produced by the author when she was young. So, not like her later novels :)

Marren | 764 comments I recommend this site. After about a year and a half of reading about Jane Austen life and her works, this site is the most detailed and user friendly out of the bunch:

I also did an adaptation challenge of films from the novels and movies with their storyline hinting Austen work. This project is incomplete and it may be so for a long time. There are numerous early adaptation that are hard to get.

I began this challenge not to gloat about reading Austen's work afterwards but there is just something about this lady that just intrigues me. I have never felt this way about any other writer. She is indeed my only favourite author so far. I am now contemplating a Charles Dickens project for next year God willing.

I honestly feel satisfied but drained at the same time. Reading from a kindle certainly has its advantages and disadvantages. I owe another group on Goodreads many thanks, we took part in a Jane Austen Project for 2013. Now I am trying to read some biographies on Austen whilst I watch some documentaries.

I urge anyone who loves/ likes Jane Austen and her work to google the link I gave earlier in the post, to browse through the author's work. I hope this is legal :) I am usually wary about posting links.

Maria | 86 comments Thank you, Marren. I already knew that site, though. It is very helpful especially for people who speak Italian.

message 15: by Marren (new)

Marren | 764 comments No problem

Oh yes it is Maria. I tried reading a bit of it, the language seem close to Spanish. I just like the layout of this site.

message 16: by Maria (new)

Maria | 86 comments Yes it is fine :) And it is interesting because there are all the translations of the novels and some other works. Plus, there are some news about meetings and events, mostly in Italy.

message 17: by Marren (new)

Marren | 764 comments Ok, I notice there is plenty on there I do not understand. Thanks for explaining.

message 18: by Maria (new)
