Steven | 9 comments Hey,
I was wondering if you guys had read either Armor, by John Steakley, or The stars like dust, by Issac Asimov. Both were very good, and I really enjoyed them. I think both would be great books for the Sword and Laser.
Steven

No. Just fun books. Big books are depressing.

Halbot42 | 185 comments Hey Steven I really enjoyed armour too. John Steakley is an interesting writer, he also did one called vampire$(the $ was the original) that got turned into crap John Carpenter movie. He uses same names for two primary protags too, Felix and someone else. it was funny i read both around same time and thought armour would have made much better movie, so of course vamps got made. I love Asimov too, i find his short fiction so packed with ideas and seems to move a little better than the novels. On the other hand i also agree with Tamahome, these arent exactly on the intimidating end of the shelf with Neal Stephenson or Infinite Jest. Maybe the group should spend the next 6 months reading cryptonomicon lol...
