Em (emzyp) | 1 comments Hi, I don't know if I am posting in the correct section so I apologise in advance if I am. I read a book a while ago and have no idea of it's title or author and am desperate to find this information as I would like to find more book by the same author. The book is about an army pilot that is murdered, he is an older man. Two detectives/police, a male and a female go investigate it. They used to date years ago but she is now with someone else. It is quite dangerous while they are investigating and have people follow them and try to kill them. At one point a phycologist that the male detective is quite friendly with is killed when her car is blown up. The two detectives also get thrown into a deep hole/old basement type thing in the woods and one point, there is old rat bones and they get out by breaking a pillar? and using it to climb out. The investigation turns to a building in the middle of nowhere that is used by the military? and end up something to do with hidden weapons, nuclear I think. The male detective is quite a character, very funny and although the book is mainly about the investigation and trying to be safe while doing it, it's is also quite humerus and there is a fair bit of emphasis on the detectives relationship with each other. At the very start of the book it tells of soldiers on a truck driving along a road and they are bombed by planes. This is set years ago and the pilot is the same on that is later on killed and what they detectives are investigating. If anyone had any idea of what this book could possible be I would appreciate any feedback please. Thank you :)

Ann (annrumsey) | 16927 comments Good Luck Emma! Based on the lack of response here, none of us have read it or are familiar with the plot. Sorry!
I hope you find it - I know how frustrating it can be to not be able to identify a book! In the last book I read, the character (Maisie Dobbs) went to the British Public Library and the librarian found a patron who loved poetry to identify an Elisabeth Barrett Browning poem. It was 1932. These days what would we do without Google for such a search!
