Looking for a good source of information on the Sidhe

Hi, I am plotting out an Urban Fantasy for this year's NaNoWrimo and I am finding it difficult to get information on the Sidhe - in particular the dark Sidhe (I won't try to spell the word they use but it's pronounced doob as far as I know)
Anyone have a good source for names and predilections?

The World Guide to Gnomes, Fairies, Elves & Other Little People

Spirits, Fairies, Leprechauns, and Goblins: An Encyclopedia

Encyclopedia of Fairies: Hobgoblins, Brownies, Bogies, & Other Supernatural Creatures

Wikipedia.org has some good articles on fairies as well.

I humbly suggest my folklore blog. It's a bit out of date. I have some references with websites that I found helpful on the entries.

If you don't mind information that's done in fiction style, try books by Kenneth c. Flint. He has a series or two dealing with the Sidhe that's quite good. I don't remember if there was anything about the "dark side" though. As for pronunciations, I find they change from book to book. Almost every book I have come across on the Sidhe seems to pronounce the same word differently. See if you can find a good book on Gaelic, that would probably be your best bet.

Dubh pronounced dove is the Irish for black.

There were some Mercedes Lackey books a while back that had some Sidhe issues in them, lemme go look...Okay, I'm back. Miss me?

Anyway, it was the Bedlam's Bard series. Might be helpful. There are a few mentions of the Sidhe in the Dresden Files series, too, but not huge.

Silly question I suppose, but why not just make it up?

I've decided to just make it up - I felt like I should be doing research. But my Sidhe have moved to Portland and are 'different' therefore, making it up is not cheating. Well, that feels like great justification.

Have you read any of Charles de Lint's Newford books? The sidhe are often involved, but so are Native gods/ spirits and local spirit systems... (Newford is a Northeastern rust belt city that may be Canadian or may be American, but there is magic there for those who can see it. And you can start anywhere with this series.)

Try Forests of the Heart (Newford, #10).
