Tammy Walton Grant (tamgrant) So what do you have on the go for 2011, Danielle? Do you plan out your reading or just wing it?

message 102: by Cindi (new)

Cindi (ourtrumpcard) | 15 comments Just started Reckless (The House of Rohan, #2) by Anne Stuart last night!

Tammy, I have some challenges going, so I am reading in light of those. I also write reviews for Bitten by Books, so I have some of those queued up. A little of everything, to answer your question. What about you?

Cindi, how are liking Reckless?

message 104: by Tammy (new)

Tammy Walton Grant (tamgrant) I just float around between my tbr, the library, the UBS, and stuff that the rest of you are reading that piques my interest...and of course because I read every book too quickly the first time, I usually go back and re-read most of my books a second time. Are your reviews on Bitten by Books the same as the reviews you post on GR?

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 347 comments Mod
I only read about 1-5 books a month for them, so most of my reviews are books I'm reading from my own tbr. I review fantasy and horror for them. I envy how fast you read, girl! I wish I could do more rereading!

message 106: by Cindi (new)

Cindi (ourtrumpcard) | 15 comments Dani, I'm not too far in yet but I had to stop and check my GR lists to see if I'd already read it (I hadn't)! The beginning seems just like that of Ruthless but I expect that to change soon. I really am more of a fan of her more contemporary books, like the Ice Series, etc. But I'll read whatever she writes . . .

The hook is similar, but the execution and the small elements are pretty different. I hope you like it.

Love love | 44 comments I've just started To Love a Dark Lord by Anne Stuart . I'm only on page 65 but so far so good. =)

I liked that one a lot, Noelle. It has a Dangerous Liaisons feel to me.

message 110: by Love love (new)

Love love | 44 comments I'm sure I'll like it too, so far Anne Stuart has not disappointed me and I've loved each of her books that I've read. This is only book 7 however but I have many more in my bookself.

I have my faves by AS, but I can't say I've truly hated a book by her. I was disappointed with Museum Piece, but I'll try it again.

message 112: by Love love (new)

Love love | 44 comments I havn't read that one yet and I don't have it. The ones that I do have that I havn't read yet is

HIDDEN HONOR
SHADOW LOVER
SHADOWS AT SUNSET
LORD OF DANGER
INTO THE FIRE
STILL LAKE

I've started a new system of picking new books to read from my tbr. I usually have a really hard time choosing what to read next so now I just open the bookshelves and pull about 6 or 7 due to title and genre ( I try to mix it up) and then those are the ones I chose from until I read them all.Crazy I know but anyway this time I had pulled two of Anne Stuarts out, TO LOVE A DARK LORD (wich I'm reading now) and INTO THE FIRE. I'm not sure how any of these have rated but hopefully they're good. =)

Hey, I like that system! I've been known to do the eenie, meenie, mini, mo thing with books.

As for your list, I am not as fond of Shadow Lover and Still Lake, although they were good. The rest...thumbs way up from me. I especially love Lord of Danger out of that list. But, your milage may vary.

message 114: by Love love (new)

Love love | 44 comments Thanks for the ratings for my list, I think that I will pull at least one of her books out each time unitl I read through them all. =)

That is such a good one, Noelle (one of my fave Anne Stuart's), hope you like it!

I just finished Faefever (Fever, #3) by Karen Marie Moning (really good - fast paced and exciting) and The Seduction of His Wife by Tiffany Clare (not so good - pretty disappointing).

Next up is The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie (Highland Pleasures, #1) by Jennifer Ashley

Love love | 44 comments I've just started Into the Fire by Anne Stuart and I can already tell this will be one that I would recommend. It's hooked me from the very first pages. =)

Cool!

Love love | 44 comments Okay, I LOVED LOVED LOVED Into the Fire by Anne Stuart and I guess I needed to read some more Anne Stuart so now I'm reading Night of the Phantom (American Romance, #398) by Anne Stuart .

Man, you are making me want to do a massive Anne Stuart reread, Noelle!

message 120: by Love love (new)

Love love | 44 comments LOL Lady Danielle, I do have to say that I'm not really loving NIGHT OF THE PHANTOM. It's kinda a mix between Bueaty and The Beast and Phantom Of The Opera. Just not my cuppa but still hanging in there with it.

It's not one of my faves by her, either, Noelle.

message 122: by Tammy (new)

Tammy Walton Grant (tamgrant) I FINALLY got my mitts on a copy of A Rose at Midnight (An Avon Romantic Treasure) by Anne Stuart - I've had this on order at my library for months!

message 123: by willaful (last edited Apr 19, 2011 08:56PM) (new)

willaful | 45 comments I'm reading Catspaw by Anne Stuart -- have had the two sequels for ages and finally found the first. I love it! Such a sexy cat burglar! He's a kinder, gentler Stuart hero but none the worse for it.

message 124: by Tammy (new)

Tammy Walton Grant (tamgrant) Wow - how old is that one?

Tammy Walton Grant (tamgrant) Miami Vice was on tv and I was just graduating high school. You'll have to let us know how this one has held up. :)

message 127: by willaful (new)

willaful | 45 comments I don't think it's dated much at all, no more than you'd expect of a category. The San Francisco setting still works.

I love Catspaw and its sequels. Great banter and the Remington Steelesque vibe is awesome.

A Rose at Midnight is definitely in my top five of Anne Stuart books, Tammy.

message 130: by Tammy (new)

Tammy Walton Grant (tamgrant) So far so good, Danielle!

Did you say Remington Steele? SQUEEE!!!!! LOVED that show. (Well, more specifically, loved Pierce Brosnan.)

Remington Steele was awesome! I have them all on DVD. I need to watch those!

message 132: by Tammy (new)

Tammy Walton Grant (tamgrant) Have you seen "The Thomas Crown Affair" with Brosnan and Rene Russo? Awesome movie -- they are both so hot the whole movie smokes. And she has a killer wardrobe. :)

message 133: by Arch (new)

Arch | 91 comments I use to like watching Remington Steele

The Thomas Crown Affair was really good. Brosnan and Russo had great chemistry.

Arch, Remington Steele is one of my all time favorites.

message 135: by Arabellavidal (new)

Arabellavidal | 5 comments Mmmmm! Love Remington Steele! Used to watch reruns regularly. Really have to buy the DVD!

Just finished reading Rocky Road with its delicious heroine and Harrison Ford-as-a-tortured-detective hero! Yum!

Plus, a friend allowed me to read her copy of AS' ebook, The Fall of Maggie Brown! Highly recommended!

That's awesome you are reading some of her older Harlequins, Arabella. She has some really good stuff in those lines.

message 137: by Arabellavidal (new)

Arabellavidal | 5 comments Speaking of her older Harlequins, how many have been brave enough to read Tangled Lies? It's part of the same series as Rocky Road - Men Made in America. I was initially very reluctant to read ahead due to some reviews on Amazon, but in the end I'm glad I did!

I liked Tangled Lies. It's not a favorite, but I've been meaning to reread it, since it was one of her darker HQNs, and I'd like to see how I like it post the Ice series.
