Damn first sentence of post #1....I was so excited!:)I don't seek out most nuts, but I'll eat them when they're free.
(Had Sarah not prefaced this thread with the directive to keep our minds out of the gutter, I'd expect someone to knock that out of the park.)
Pistachios, almonds and cashews to eat, pecans to bake with. Walnuts are alright to bake with if needed.

It's not my first time around here, you know. All I have to do is figure out how a fifteen year old and/or Michael Scott would respond to a post and then adjust accordingly.
Yes to pistachios! There's a brand at my store that has both salt and pepper on them...so good!I like almost every variety, even soy nuts which probably don't count.
@ Sarah Pi : I love Trader Joe's snack mixes. They had one (haven't been home to Cali in a while so not sure if it still exists) which had white and dark chocolate, dried cherries and nuts in it. That mix was a little piece of heaven.

Hazelnuts are the deliciousest. Followed by pecans and almonds. Then, pistachios and macadamias. I will not turn up my nose at cashews or Brazil nuts. I like the taste of walnuts but find their papery skin annoying. I do like peanuts but NOT salted. Occasionally the bulk peanuts from the grocery will be stupendously delicious. I generally don't like flavored nuts. I have tried the dill pickle flavored cashews from Target...
Walnuts would be my least favorite nut. I can eat them, but I don't really see the point. Especially in baked goods.

red dye? that's just crazy.

Do you like nuts? Which ones?
Raw or roasted?
I have some fantastic wasabi dusted peanuts (technically a legume, I know) right now, made with giant Virginia peanuts.
I also love most Trader Joe nut offerings. The tamari roasted almonds, and coconut cashews, and chili lime pistachios and honey roasted peanuts in particular, though the latter two are quite messy.
Walnuts underwhelm me - they're just too bulky. And I don't like the salted variety of any of the above.
