I finished Frostbite and I have Shadow Kiss checked out. I love Dimitri and am curious about Adrian. But...does Adrian spend a lot of time with Lissa figuring out their spirit stuff? Because, yeah. I super dislike her.

When you type it all out, sure it makes sense. Of course Lissa is going to spend a lot of time with Adrian. Logic has no place with my dislike.

I downloaded Vampire Academy. I'll start the audio today. I keep hearing good things about it and since the download was under $15 I thought I'd give it a try. I'm not much for vampires as sympathic characters, but there have been a few vampires that I like (Zoe Takano in Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld). So here I go.

Book 1 is a little bit more world building and not as good as the rest of the series, but it's hard not to get hooked once you hit book 2.

That might not bother you in this series. In VA there are Vampires that don't kill people and can go in the sunlight etc - the moroi, and vampires that are evil, kill people, and can't go in sunlight etc - the strigoi. So not all of the vampires are sympathetic characters.

Oooo! I like how it's still the same look from the other series, but they've jazzed it up.

Really makes me want to get caught up so I can be ready for the release of this one!

:'( I can't belive i have to wait till AUGUST! I finished the last book last night and was really annoyed by the so un-vampire acadmey sappy ending (although i was kinda excpectin it, but still.) I wanna see stuff from Dimitri's poind of view in the next book!

I've seen the cover on the VA fans book club thingy on here I think Mead said the guy isnt Adrian but IDR. She confirmed that it is Sydney of course but not that they guy is Adrian.

I haven't finished the series and theres nothing that seems spoilerish. It's just common plot who Rose ends up with.

Most of the covers don't really go with the characters but I figured it was Adrian, only because he still has story and all.

Quick question, and maybe this should be in movies, but I'm asking it here for those that have read the books. But has anyone seen the movie?

I got the DVD and tried to watch it over the weekend and it was horrible. The gal that played Lissa was so stiff, Rose, so so, Dimitri, so not what I had in my head. I ended up turning it off after 30 minutes.

What do you think the odds are of the rest of the series getting made?

The girl playing Rose actually grew on me but I really disliked all of the other characters. They are pushing for a second movie but I don't see it happening.

I really didn't see another movie happening either. There has been no buzz.

I still can't bring myself to watch the movies. And from the stats, I doubt they'll make a second.

I took the movie for what it was. I just assumed it was Hallmark or Lifetime quality and prepared myself for the cheesy. It was bad, but I went in knowing that so I found a way to sickly enjoy in the horribleness. They probably won't get movie 2 off the ground, but if they do I can pretty much guarantee they won't get the entire series made. They try to leave a cliff hanger for movie 2 so they have the plans. The funding is what will determine if it's made. Even bad movies get sequels.

Yes, I remember a lot of people disliking the first Harry potter movie but it ended up with 8 movies so... you never know. They completely ruined the mythology and the rules of that magical world IMO and that was just unacceptable to me. I'd give one more movie a chance to see if they could fix it.

Also they might do the whole series because those Percy Jackson movies are horrible as well but they just keep spittin' em out.

If a bad movie can make money, they'll make it. It's the profit that matters.
