I'm with the Japanese woman. Most rude people toodle on, happily unaware or uncaring. Why let them ruin a moment of your day? Not saying that I can always keep this frame of mind, but I'd like to.

Rachel | 1106 comments *make

message 1010: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 1106 comments Yeah! And how about people who chew with their mouths open? It's horrible. I can actually see the food all mashed up and squishy.

Félix (habitseven) Yucko.

Rachel | 1106 comments Agreed!

message 1013: by Cam (new)

Cam | 112 comments People talking loudly on their cell phones in a library or a bookstore.

message 1014: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) People using those Nextel walkie-talkie things in public so you have to hear both sides of a stupid conversation that interests you not at all.

message 1015: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 1106 comments HAH. People who constantly stare at their smart phones at the dinner table, eg at family gatherings.

message 1016: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Wait ... what were you saying?

Cam | 112 comments Rachel wrote: "HAH. People who constantly stare at their smart phones at the dinner table, eg at family gatherings."

That would bother me too.

message 1018: by David (new)

David Ottenstein (dwotter) | 11 comments My biggest pet peeve is when people start a sentence with "I'm not trying to be rude, but..." or "I don't want to be a jerk, but..." or "Look, not to be pushy or anything, but....

If you don't want to be a jerk, then don't be! If you have to preface your comment with that kind of modifier you already know you're being a rude, pushy jerk.

I'm glad I never saw that happen (but I imagine I likely will).

I think those sorts of modifiers are only used by the type of people who are completely incapable of having a thought without speaking it out loud. We might not be able to help some of the offensive thoughts that travel through our brains from time to time, but we can certainly help saying them out loud.

message 1022: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 74 comments Something that really bothers me that shouldnt. Well not only is it the time of the year that the stores are packed full of people. The return lines are just as long if not longer than the check out lines........ it bothers me that the more I try not to have anything that I need to return to the store seems to backfire. I have the most amount of returns when the line is the longest! Yes I know its my fault, Id rather it be my fault the other 11 months out of the year.

That's good for you. Then basically there was no real need for you to comment on what I stated, which I deleted...Instead, I'll just call the auto service center and complain about their dirty filty bathrooms...should have done that in the first place instead of posting on here.

I didn't mean anything really all that bad about it, except to say that I scanned her post enough to see the topic and then I posted a simple "I will not be reading what you wrote because I do not sympathise with the sentiment."

But post deleting doesn't bother me. I'm an avid fan of the activity, myself.

I agree with you, that's why I reposted my reply to Sally's message in a different way--that's just my "nature" I tend to agree with the disagreers. Right after I deleted my comment, I thought to myself that was stupid.... I guess many of the topics on this site are likely not for me afterall - your assumptions/opinions about my personality and postings are reflected in your statements. There also at times seems to be a "double standard" when certain people can post things and no one else really seems to question them. I do find the word "huffy" slightly offensive though.

Cam, I didn't see your deleted post, but I read Bun's post to you at message 1204 and your response at 1210 seems a little oversensitive to me. Now maybe I'm wrong, but if you are feeling that raw, then maybe TC isn't the place for you.

Yeah - you are absolutely right. This site isn't the place for me - but that's your opinion. I'm not sure any one but all the moderators can read the original postings....as I wrote to BunWat - it was a little too late to put back my original posting after it was deleted... My being over-emphatic has it's good points and bad points as well.

They should do away with the "delete" key...and next time if I have to use their dirty bathroom...I'll close my eyes...
