My blog is the first page of my website:www.fionamcgier.com. Read about the eerie trick-or-treater who has been to our house 2 years in a row, and get a recipe for chocolate spiders. Yummy!
I've restructured my blog, Bibliophilic Blather, since my last post. Every Monday and Wednesday is "Editing for Grammarphobes." I also have added Flash Fiction Fridays, which showcases writers of all genres interpreting monthly themes in 500 words or less.Check it out at:

E.A. I enjoyed your blog comments, especially the "printers devil" one. I think they've visited me too. After proofreading a zillion times and thinking our product is perfect, why do we find typos after the book is printed? I've seen these in popular authors' books as well and you'd expect that they would have the best editors, proofreaders, etc. Please check out my blog, and become a folower if you wish: http://Jeanettethewriter.blogspot.com
Like you blog, Jeanette, now I'm following. Take a peak at mine.

Hi Jeanette, thanks for visiting my blog and for your comment. (Please forgive me everyone if I go off topic of Blog Promotion to answer Jeanette.)Re: "Printer's Devils"...what a pain! I don't know how many times I've proof read an MS, and family too, but to no avail at times. We get rid of all the typos, and then they show up like little demons to torment you when the book is printed. (I think it's the fault of the spell checker which automatically 'corrects' as you type, sometimes I don't catch what word it substitutes if I've just switched letters during typing and I continue on with a sentence.) I've spotted loads of typos in major publishing houses publications too, it's a growing problem. One thing I do notice is when I miss a typo, it's because I'm so used to what the text should read like, I can completely skip past a mistake or a sound alike and read the correct word when it's not there. It's always good to have someone read your MSs to help remove as much mistakes as possible. :)
(Okay, back to blog promotion!)
Just thought I'd mention that my blogging right now includes "The Twelve (Geophysical and Alaskan) Days of Christmas" day by day as well as a weekly series on horse color genetics, discussion of the science in my science fiction, local (North Pole, Alaska) weather and whatever else happens to elicit a post. Hey everyone! My name is Kait and I am a author/marketer, deadly combination (smile). One of my personal goals is to educate authors on how to use Amazon to promote their books. As we all know Amazon is a force you can not ignore. Ironically though I believe goodreads (more so than Amazon) to be one of the best places for sharing information on the subject . I have often found that the Amazon Discussion Boards can be a not so friendly place and unfortunately many authors fall victim to "cyber-bulling". None of that here! For the last few weeks I was attending the Taipei International Book Fair in Taiwan and let me tell you the desire to distribute foreign books into the U.S (as well as bring American "English" books into their region) is HUGE! It is all very exciting. One thing I noted which I felt everyone should know is that Amazon is the go to site for Foreign Rights buyers! Yup you heard me. Basically foreign publishing companies are realizing the value of Amazon and how it can essentially be used as a search engine when looking for new titles for rights purchasing. Having an amazon presence is more crucial now than ever as the site will only grow in the proceeding month/years in popularity.
That being said I wanted to let you all know I have created a blog to which I will be making 2 new posts a week all relating to Amazon. This blog will cover marketing tips, facts, and general information about Amazon. My aim is to help educate authors on using Amazon as this site should be treated by an author just as you would Facebook or Twitter. Social Media baby! ITS HERE TO STAY! Below is the link to my new blog! Hope you enjoy it and please feel free to leave comments!

Hi! I'm Suzanne Adair, and I write mystery and suspense set during the Southern theater of the Revolutionary War. The first book of my series, Paper Woman, received the Patrick D. Smith Literature Award. The third book, Camp Follower, was nominated for the Daphne du Maurier Award and the Sir Walter Raleigh Award. In my blog, The British Are Coming, Y'All!, I talk about Revolutionary War reenacting, writing, research, and history. I recently added a feature called "Relevant History" in which guest authors with a historical connection make what they know about history fun and meaningful to those of us in the 21st century. Author Gwen Mayo, who posted a link to her blog earlier on this thread, will be my guest 29 March. If you're published, have a historical connection in your work, and would like to be featured in Relevant History, go to the contact form on my web site and leave me a message.
Check out the lovely, new cover art for the electronic version of Paper Woman on my blog entry today. Let me know what you think of it. I'd be grateful to have you follow my blog and/or "Like" my Facebook author page.
Thanks,
Suzanne Adair
WRITER' BLOCKI saw that someone wrote about writer's block. Well, I'll put in my two cents.
I've read about 5 books on how to write novels, and I know there are different ways to write novels. I personally write from the beginning to the end, while some people enjoy writing the good parts and then tie the good parts together with connective tissue.
I imagine that if you use the latter technique writer's block comes after you've written all the fun stuff and are now stuck with connecting everything you've written.
But, if you are like me and write from beginning to end, you have highs and lows writing when you are going from juicy scene to connective tissue.
THIS IS HOW I GET OVER WRITER'S BLOCK. I tell myself to write just ONE sentence. It doesn't even have to be a good sentence. It could be passive, out of tense whatever. Sometimes I ask myself, "WHAT DO YOU WANT TO TELL THE READER." I will actually write-this is what I'm trying to say. But just write the one sentence and usually when the first sentence is down, the second is easier and then the third comes and so on.
BTW, I just had a fun night of adding 1000 words to my novel. I got to describe some fun stuff! Hope you all had fun today too!
