What is your favorite “Funny/Fun” PNR book, series and character?
I absolutely love Katie MacAlister's Aishling Gray series.
. I have never laughed so hard while reading a book!
I would have to second Katie MacAlister. I read the first Light Dragon book and realized the others went with it. I'm working on the Silver Dragon Series now. I love them. There is plenty of romance and laughter throughout the books.
@ message 19: by Smut Bitch (new)Aug 04, 2010 03:08pm .. I agree!! I just started Shelly Laurenston Pride series and it's hilarious!!
also, @ message 16: by Yvette (new)
Aug 04, ...I love that series!! I also just finished up Eternal Kiss of Darkness, which is Mencheres story, but there were good LOL moments there too. Really good lol.
Kate Daniels series too.
Smut Bitch wrote: "

Mary Hughes and Shelly Laurentson are two totally funny authors."
Definitely agree with both of those suggestions! Also Laurenston's Dragon Kin
series written as G.A. Aiken.
I hope you like it! I recently finished What a Dragon Should Know
which is the third book in the series. Loved it! I recommend reading this series in order.
I try to read most series in order. I've messed up and started in the middle a few times (without knowing) only to be confused as anything while I'm reading.
Mollie wrote: "Nix from the Immortals after Dark Series. She is just so damn funny. I love her t-shirts!"I read the subject line and Nix popped right into my head too. I love the IAD series.
I am reading The Mane Event right now, and they are hysterical too. Several LOL moments in those. I even had to share a couple with my son!

oh I love the Dragon Kin series. "I'm a *Blue Dragon" I can't wait for his story!
Fluttrbs wrote: "I just read Bear Neccessities By Dana Marie Belle. It was a fun book to read. I loved the Grizzly bear shifter named "Bunny". My favourite has to be Jazz Parks, her conversations with her inner bitch are hilarious (but she's got a whole bunch of voices in her head). After that it has to be the BDB.
I've only read the first in the series, but Harry Dresden's pretty funny too.
Oh, and the Lords of the Underworld, when Maddox got a stiffy sitting next to Paris I nearly died laughing.
I think that the series written by Nina Bangs are funny sometimes. I think that's why I like some of her stuff.
Danielle wrote: "I think that the series written by Nina Bangs are funny sometimes. I think that's why I like some of her stuff."I agree Danielle, sometimes Nina Bangs can be really funny and then other times it's over the top.
Hey, don't you guys dis my Sparkle and Ganymede. lol, and I LOVE the MacKenzie vamps. But mostly, its Sparkle and Ganymede that provide the funny parts in the books.

Don't forget Asima!
Don't forget Asima!
This is a great thread. Here are my humorous PNR favs, loosely in order of preference:Pride Stories by Shelly Laurenston The Mane Attraction
Argeneau vampire series by Lynsay Sands A Quick Bite
Dragon Kin series by G.A. Aiken Dragon Actually
Vegas vampire series by Erin McCarthy High Stakes
Love at Stake books by Kerrelyn Sparks How To Marry a Millionaire Vampire
Magnus Pack by Shelly Laurenston Pack Challenge
Biting Nixie by Mary Hughes Biting Nixie
Others series by Christine Warren Wolf At the Door
Aisley Gray series by Katie MacAlister You Slay Me
Dark Ones series by Katie MacAlister A Girl's Guide to Vampires
Queen Betsy books by M.J. Davidson Undead and Unwed
For LOL PNR I love Molly Harper's Nice Girls Don't series (http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/56...), Marta Cost'a Casa Dracula series (http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/33...) and Michelle Rowen's Immortality Bites series.
Shannon, I really liked the sense of humor from the Aisley Gray, Dark Ones series but I had a huge problem with Sands vampire series. I read two books and just bothered me. I think it more her style; repeating words, gestures that made me want to throw the books at the wall. I was a fan of Queen Betsy but her swearing and at times TSTL have been pissing me off. I haven't tried but do have a Shelly Laurentson book.
Heather wrote: "Shannon, I really liked the sense of humor from the Aisley Gray, Dark Ones series but I had a huge problem with Sands vampire series. I read two books and just bothered me. Oh no, swearing doesn't bother me at all, nope, I do it all the time! It is the way Betsy does it, at inappropriate times! It is a little embarassing when she does it, if this makes sense..TSTL: Too Stupid To Live, at times, several heroines will fall to this dreaded disease..
Lynsay Sands is always good for humor!
Aisling Gray is a hoot from Katie MacAlister Jim "it takes me 30 minutes to clean my package..."
Annette Blair is just too funny!
Queen Bestsy Is the most fun, quirkie humor!
And last but not least, Kresely Cole Nutting Futs Nix
I quite like Lynsay Sands for her humour, I just try not to read her books in a row as they are a bit samey.
I just read
by Shelly Laurenston and it was funny. Funny isn't a big requirement for me, but this was funny.
I love having humour in books, especially Shelly Laurenston's kind of funny. I think it must be quite hard to write funny books.
Has anyone read Michelle Rowen’s Demon In Me or any other books by her?I have heard that several of her books bring the lol's, but I haven't read anything by her.
Amy wrote: "Has anyone read Michelle Rowen’s Demon In Me or any other books by her?

I loved Michelle Rowen's Immortality Bites series. If you liked it too, I would suggest Molly Harper's Nice Girls series. Many LOL moments there :) OH! And Marta Acosta's Casa Dracula series is GREAT for LOLs too.
I keep wanting to read the Gerry Bartlett Real Vampires series, but I can't stand the protagonist's constant complaints about her body and I'm not sure how "romantic" they are. Any thoughts on that?

Vlad from the Night Huntress/Night Huntress World is cracking me up in
. He does in all his appearances...LOVE HIM!
Mencheres has even made some pretty comical one liners as well. And yes, Ian, Bones and Spade are hilarious also.
Jen wrote: "Vlad from the Night Huntress/Night Huntress World is cracking me up in

Those books are awesome, and they do have humor though it isn't really overt.

Anyone ready any of these? Comments/Likes/DislikesHex series by Linda Wisdom
50 Ways To Hex Your Lover
Hex Appeal
Wicked By Any Other Nam
I'm a shelley laurenston fan, I really like Sissy Mae :P And Bobby her brother (from the pride stories). Oh and the chicks from the pack series. The friends. I'm having brain freeze. But the second book Go Fetch.. she cracks me right the fuck up.See. I can swear too :P
Also, I did like Molly Harper and Michelle Rowan.
I like Aisling and Jim from Mcalister's series
Oh and Nina Bangs. I love Sparkle and Gandymead and Asima :P
Oh man, I've seen so many of my favorites listed here and a handful more that I'll have to add to my TBR shelves! Thanks for the tips!I just have to add the GhostHunter series by Victoria Laurie. M.J's partner, Gilly, has some fantastic lines!
I completely agree Erika, I love Shelly Laurenston, also her other pen name G A AIken and her Dragon series, they are also really funny.
Amy--how can you NOT love 50 Ways to Hex Your Lover? I mean, homicidal bunny slippers named Fluff and Puff? Come on now. :o) And in one of the later books she gets a pair of crocodile stilletos that are also "alive" like Fluff and Puff (sorry, don't remember their names.) They are very definately "girly, girl" shoes, they love make-up, bling and, oh yeah--did I mention they change their appearance so that they always perfectly match the outfit you are wearing. I really do like this series.
And Shelly Laurenston's new book Hunting Season has some very funny moments too. Its not quite as lol or roflol as the Pack and Mane books, but still has its funny moments.
And yeah, I too love Gilly. He really IS a great "gay best friend".

Yvette, I loved that part with Vlad. He really does need to have his own hea.Ann/Martina; I have added the books you recommended 1) What's a Ghoul To Do & 2) 50 Ways to Hex Your Lover. They sound very good..
I definitley have to go with Shelly Laurenstons books
But his one was the funniest of them was
haven't read the next one to the series but its on my to- read list
I love Magnus Bane from the Mortal Instruments books. I mean the way he dresses and everything, and i seem to remember him having some pretty funny one-liners. If the movie ever gets made, Adam Lambert would be a near perfect Magnus except for the fact that he's not Asian.
I love all of Shelly Laurenston's books. I can't wait till she comes out with another one. If you like mysteries, there's a PN mystery series by Casey Daniels featuring Pepper Martin who acts as a PI for ghosts. It's very funny, and Pepper is an interesting character. The first book is Don of the Dead (and the titles are pretty funny, too).
Beth wrote: "The Undead Heart is hysterical and I mean hysterical. It doesn't get funny til after the first couple of chapters tho. my fav character in the book is Potter (and he's hot!) And its on sale on Ama..."I followed your suggestion and purchased for my Kindle. It is truly funny.
Nix, Lassiter and the Brothers one liners, Sookie, Mac (from the Fever series. She has some funny lines)...I am sure there are more, I am just thinking off the top of my head.

Hey, Bo and Blayne are a riot. But you should really read the others first (The Magnus Pack and the Pride books) since at least some of the people from those books pop up in Beast--and Blayne appears in at least one of those previous books.
