I would recommend checking out schools in other states as well. I'm sure there are other low-cost areas. I would suggest checking out the south and mid-west. Both areas are considerably cheaper than the east and west coasts, and have some great schools!

Rachel (aka. Kaiserin Sisi) (looney-lovegood) | 963 comments Ahhh, well Whitman is supposed to be quite a good school. I would consider it but I don't want to be that far from home.

Lynx ~ 10/1 Never Forgotten Lol. I'm not even thinking about the distances in my college choices.... the closest good one would be... Dartmouth... but I don't think that has the program I want... and I don't think any other local colleges have it... so.... out of state... lol. Maybe even out of country, it is. :P

Lynx ~ 10/1 Never Forgotten haha. I now have two more colleges on my list! One's Cornell, the other is the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture. That one has made it to number one on my list! But I better get working harder... they only accept like, 35 students a year... O.O But I have no idea how many apply... so.... haha. I thought it was funny though, I didn't even know it existed, till I was reading a biography on Frankie, and found out "oh! he started a college. Wonder if it's still up after close to 80 years...." haha. So I googled it, found out it had changed it's name, and it was still up and runing!!!! YAY!!!

Rebecca Kent | 5 comments I think you should go to a college for it's location and how good they teach what you are trying to get a degree in.

Rachel (aka. Kaiserin Sisi) (looney-lovegood) | 963 comments It goes so much beyond that, though. Where you go to college is going to be your home for most of the next four years.

And guess who just got into their top choice college? *does happy dance*

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) I have to say, I did enjoy most of my college time. The only time I didn't like it was when I was bullied. I must have been an easy target.

Sashana -Should colleges be more willing to accept underrepresented minorities (blacks and Hispanics) with lower stats than overrepresented minorities (Asians)?

As one of the previously mentioned "underrepresented minorities" I have to say I'm kind of offended. First, I hate the term minority even though it's politically correct. Am I a lesser race because I'm black? And since I am a minority I would like to know who my superior is. That term is so past its time. Secondly, my friend who is also a 'minority', has a 4.5 GPA and is taking 7 AP classes just to get into an Ivy league. So if they have laxer acceptance policy for us minorities please tell me so my friends and I can stop working our asses of since we're so used to hand outs.

Unidragonfrag If Harvard accepted me on a full-ride scholarship, yes... I'd definitely attend. I wouldn't make any friends and wouldn't care. Having it on my resume would be a huge plus.

Hun, the Asian thing is SO not true. Ivy league colleges let in white people and for the most part that's it. Every other race is represented in VERY small amounts. They're not going to let people in with poor grades unless they're rich as hell. And no offense to anyone, but if Harvard just started letting anyone in, the prestige would be gone and it would be the same as going to a community college except you'd have to pay 5x more.
