Hi everyone! I'm Robin and I have recently become addicted to Harlequin Presents (and Extra) romances. I had never read one before late last year and I can't believe I've been missing out for so long! I've become so addicted that I've printed out the list of books published since 2007 and am keeping track of which ones I have read. It is my ultimate goal to read them all LOL
Hi everyone! I'm Giulia, some people call me Bubbles. Lately I've been picking up some Harlequin Presents novels, and really enjoying them. There are so many authors for Harlequin I'd thought it'd be a good idea to join everyone and learn more about how the books are organized, favourite authors etc.

I bit the bug a few years ago too and... well... I'm really welcoming you to the start of your demise.
Just kidding! ;)

This is an awesome place to be (Goodreads in general, HP Readers in particular). What authors are you loving so far?
Well, I'm a fan of a lot of romance authors. I'm just really delving into Harlequin Presents now. I like Sarah Morgan and Maisey Yates so far. I have a Carol Marinelli at home I have not read yet. Would love suggestions of who to try next!
It depends on what you like. I tend to read the mid-vintage books, things from Penny Jordan, Sara Craven, Anne Mather, Carole Mortimer etc. But there are girls here who read the more modern writers more, they could better name those writers. And then you have those who read the ultra-vintage books too. So many books and only one blasted life!
That's my problem---I like it all! Love the royals and millionaires, love the small town romances and intrigue ones too. So many books so little time I always say. When you say vintage, are you talking the ones from back in the 60s and 70s?
I may be wrong, but for me, I view the ultra vintage as anything from the 70's back. Then the 80's to the early 2000's I call my mid-vintages :). Anything past, maybe, 2005 for me is modern.
That gives me a time frame. The first romance I ever read was a vintage Harlequin The Honey is Bitter and I remember really liking it. I was about 12.
Giulia~Bubbles ♌ wrote: "Shapheron, is that The Doctor and Rose in your avatar?!"Why yes, it is. I Love 10 and Rose.

You may want to check out their books too.

You could also try Olivia Gates -she's the best sheikh writer - The Desert Lord's Baby, The Desert King, To Tame a Sheikh - fabulous!
Also Cathleen Ross is a good erotic romance.
Also as mentioned abouve Kate Hewitt - she writes very intense novels and Michele Condor us also fantastic - His last chance at redemption - us a great book!

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! You have so many great authors to try!
Here are some I would recommend, in no particular order:
Harlequin Presents Authors (newer and older):
-Annie West (heroes tend to be nicer though still alpha. Her earlier sheikh books -are great.)
-Patricia Wilson (writes the best stalkerific heroes)
-Michelle Reid (queen of drama and emotional stories)
-Helen Brooks (super gallant and swoon-worthy heroes)
-Sara Craven (sometimes writes "forced seduction" books so choose carefully if that bothers you. Some of her books are quite good though).
-Carole Mortimer
-Emma Darcy
-Lynne Graham (keep to her older books, they are 1000x better than her newer stuff)
-Lucy Monroe (ditto on avoiding her newer books and keeping to her older books)
-Abby Green (very engaging writing though heroes tend to be uber jerks)
-Jacqueline Baird (again, older stuff is better; same on uber jerk heroes)
-Sarah Morgan (you already tried).
Harlequin Kiss (f/k/a Harlequin Presents Extra) /Riva (More "modern," contemporary stories):
-Kelly Hunter (I highly recommend The Man She Loves To Hate)
-Natalie Anderson
-Ally Blake (writes almost chick-lit like books, but still quite enjoyable)
-Heidi Rice
Welcome to the group and enjoy the ride to HPLandia!

Jennie wrote: "Hi Ruchi and welcome aboard! We have lots of fun here!"Hi Jennie, Looking forward to it :)
Hi,I just recently started reading Harlequin books this past year and I'm addicted. I've always loved romance, especially the old-school bodice ripper types, but had avoided hqns because I thought they'd be too light and without tension... plus some of those 70s and 80s covers are hysterical, IMHO ;) I was pleasantly surprised to find that there are some seriously angsty harlequins with alpha males who rival any bodice ripper!
Now I'm just stuck on what to read next. If you check out my to-read list it's slam packed with harlequins. All the goodness overwhelms me.
Hi Katie, try Sarah Morgan and Olivia Gates. They are two of my favourites. Sarah's latest one is Lost to the Desert Warrior. Olivia's latest is Claiming His Own ( sequel to Sarantos Secret Baby) both books I absolutely loved. Not sure what type of heros you're into but these ones are always alpha. In Olivia Gate's case her heros are alpha and always when they have the heroines in their sights nothing and no one can stand between them. It's great! Anyway these are just ones that I like. Happy discovering!

Welcome, Katie. One of the reasons I love HPs is because they have so much drama and angst, but they are quick reads.
Hi everyone, I like reading Harlequin novels where the heroine is more than just a pretty face and a doormat. Hope to get good recommendations from you all.
Welcome Katie and Ipshita! To all the US members, hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and enjoy your times with family and friends and remember our men and women in the Armed Forces serving our country.

Hi Ipshita, Olivia Gates writes strong alpha heroines to match her alpha males. Try Desert Prince, Expectant Mother, Strong Medicine, To Tempt A Sheikh. Also Sarah Morgan's Lost to the Desert Warrior, Doukakis Apprentice. Hope you like them.
