Absolutely. I like grammar, but I don't mean to be the grammar nazi. Beck is Beck, I hereby grant him that poetic license. (Also, we'd have to change it to "I HAVE two turntables and a microphone). The average redneck walking down the street talking on his cell phone and saying "where you at?" does not get the same license.

I also hate when teens use "Gangsta" or "wud" instead of with. Ahh!

.....I bet that's what the real English constantly say of American English. Y'all really need to realize that language is not static and much of our present sentence structure, grammar, and vocabulary would not be acceptable to the people of the past. I think it's exciting how the youth of today are changing the language and can't wait to see how different it is decades from now. If language is about communication, as long as your target comprehends your meaning, does it really matter?
And I dare say I am shocked how many people don't know about artistic license. I get sick and tired of hearing complaints about Timbaland's "the way I are". SO kudos to you Nikki and Tesse.
But I do acknowledge how biting it can be to the ear to hear improper grammar but it seems it will soon become the proper grammar and we'll just sound like whining old fogies. :)

It's funny the way different ears hear the same thing. Putting aside that it's grammatically incorrect, to me "Where you at?," sounds harsh and demanding. Kind of drill sergeant-esque. Maybe it's the hard T at the end of the sentence. On the other hand, "Where are you?" has a softer more polite tone.

i correct my friends all the time too and it drives them crazy, but my mom does it to me at home. i think it's become a habbit, correcting grammar.
