Tyler | 4 comments Its about a secret lab like a level 6 lab in new mexico or arizona. An outbreak occurs? and a man and woman try to escape on horseback. And another guy comes after them on a faster horse? I kno this is vague but I remember really liking this book. No clue what its called or the author..

Shannon | 4 comments There was a book by Michael Crichton similar to this...Prey maybe?

The Andromeda Strain is what you are thinking of Shannon. But that doesn't match the O.P.'s description at all. Since in it the people are there voluntarily, working to solve the problem of the Strain. BTW--this has been made into a movie twice.

It sounds very like Prey to me as well...course I read it too long ago to be sure about the horses...

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) | 1396 comments I think in Prey they had motor vehicles in the desert/area, not horses, but I'm not sure because I also read it a long time ago.

Beth (bethjustbeth) | 48 comments One of the Christopher Snow, series, by Dean Koontz, possibly...sounds like the second one in the series, Seize the Night...I remember a secret lab in the desert...not sure on the horseback fleeing, but I know there's a girl in the book, too...dang...I need to read these again.

If this isn't it, everyone should read them, anyway. :)

Wyntrnoire | 17 comments The book sounds like MOUNT DRAGON by Preston & Child.
(New here. Hope this is in the right spot.)

Wyntrnoire, Welcome. Yes, it's the exact right spot. Thanks for trying to help.

I'm seeing that Tyler hasn't returned for over 6 months though. This might be one for the abandoned by poster folder, but for now I"ll leave it here. Other members might be helped. Next time there is a post here though, if it's not Tyler, I might message him with a link to the thread.

Thanks, everybody.

Yep, I agree. Mount Dragon matches the plot points. Moving to Solved.
