Jennifer Lawrence was cast as Katniss Everdeen, its like official they have it on IMDb and everything. Shes ok in my opinion ( Although i think katniss was supposed to be like super beautiful, right?), what do you guys think? Here's the post:
Lionsgate confirmed this afternoon that 20-year-old Jennifer Lawrence, whose blisteringly fine work in Winter’s Bone earned her an Oscar nomination, has landed the coveted role of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games. In director Gary Ross’ adaptation of the first installment to Suzanne Collins’ beloved trilogy, Lawrence will play the 16-year-old tribute from District 12 who’s forced by a vicious government to participate in an annual reality TV death match. “Jennifer’s just an incredible actress,” praised Collins in a statement. “So powerful, vulnerable, beautiful, unforgiving and brave. I never thought we’d find somebody this perfect for the role. I don't think she looks enough like I picture Katniss to look like. Hailee Steinfeld (Or even Danielle Chuchran) look more like her, in my opinion. And, they're great actresses. I would've liked them to be cast instead of JL.

Anna, no. Katniss wasn't supposed to be super beautiful. Or if she was I never got that impression.

You know what, I think Jennifer Lawrence will do an amazing job. They have plenty of makeup and stuff they can use to make her look different. That's fine. But when it comes to finding the person who can act the job perfectly, that's the hard part. And they looked at a lot of people and said she was the best for the part. I trust them. I mean, it's their whole job. If they mess up Katniss, they are loosing a ton of money because the whole thing will flop. They wouldn't be able to do all three movies like they are planning because the first would have failed. I really think they chose right.

Ya, I agree with Lynx. Ive never see Jennifer in anything(although I wish winters bone wasn't R....cuz I really wanted to see it :(. ), but I know that she is a great actress, she was up for an academy award/Oscar.....can't remember. But, I think that she'll do great and I think that she looks almost how I imagined Katniss.

When people go to look her up, they see pics of her at award shows, premieres, etc. And at those things she has a ton of makeup on and such, so she's not how people saw Katniss, but if you pics of her from her movies(winters bone Omgosh), she lOoks a lot like Katniss.

I'm not sure if I'm making sense, but all that is just my opinion.

Yeah i think she will do a good job. She did really good in winters bone. And about katniss being beautiful, i suppose she probably wasnt supposed to be, i might have just got that impression. But i do know Gale is supposed to be like really good looking. I wonder who they will cast for him and peeta.

I actually think Saoirse Ronan would make a great Katniss. She has the 'tough girl' look, and I think with dark hair she'd look like her. Also, in Hanna she appears to be downright scary yet has an emotional side. Perfect for Katniss. And she's a GREAT actress.

I DO NOT LIKE THE CAST FOR PEETA AND GALE!!! NO. NO. NO. NO.
For one thing, I do not like Josh Hutcherson mainly because he played Steve in Cirque Du Freak and I literally died. So...bad. and Cirque du freak is one of my favorite books. And I imagined peeta as a hot guy. Josh...isn't all that good looking. Ugh. This movie seems like it's going to suck already :'(
