What are you reading?
Just finished
This is the 2nd book in the Caleb Bender series set in Mexico, a little different from the norm. I really enjoyed it and look forward to the next one in the series,
to be released in January. If any reviewer belongs to Netgalley, this title is available through them.
In an Amish community, that is just how it is. They do not know it any differently. As "Englishers", we have a hard time dealing with that since women have worked so hard to be heard and become equals to men.
I'm reading all Christmas stories for the holidays. Right now I'm reading 'A simple Amish Christmas'
It is a new Year now Hope it is a Happy and Healthy one for everyone...I am reading Beth Wiseman series of "A Daughters Promise" with 5 books in it and have just finished book #3, these are so good and if you have not read them -need to go back and take a look at this series...
I am currently reading "Redeeming Grace (Hannah's Daughter's)" I absolutely LOVE this book I can't put it down. I've been reading it late into the night last night & tonight. I especially like the substory about the main character's sister who has Down Syndrome &she has a boyfriend who also has Down Syndrome. Having an adult daughter with Down Syndrome I can really relate to this part of the storyline. I think it was handled vety honestly & very much true to life. The rest of the story has really captured my attention & I'm very eager to read more of this author's books.
Lynn: I, too, have been reading the "Hannah's Daughters" series by Emma Miller. I am currently reading Anna's Gift, the third book in the series. Have not yet gotten to Redeeming Grace, the fifth book in the series.I agree with you. Susanna, the daughter with Down Syndrome, is a delightful character.
The next book in this series is scheduled for release in May, 2013.
Lynn & Carolyn -- I haven't read #5 yet (I loved 1-4), but I think you've helped me figured out what I'll read after I finish Accidentally Amish!
I have just finished reading the third book in Suzanne Woods Fisher's "Stoney Ridge Seasons" series. What a great story!! In fact, the entire series is a must-read series. (The third book is The Lesson.)
Just wanted to chime in and say that I love the Hannah's Daughters series as well! I have Redeeming Grace on my Kindle but haven't got around to reading it yet. Glad to hear such positive things about it!I just finished Love Comes to Paradise by Mary Ellis and loved it! If you haven't checked this series out yet, you must do.
Hello Everyone, I just finished reading two books.A hardback "The Christmas Wedding" by James Patterson
and
An Amish Kitchen. A free book from Booksneeze that I read on my iPad.
I am going now to "My Books" and post about these stories.

I finished reading Amish White Christmas Pie by Wanda Brunstetter and it was a very good book. I am now reading Rebecca's Return it has been a good series so far.

I have just finished reading The Struggle by Wanda E. Brunstetter. This is the third book in the "Kentucky Brothers" series. Despite the fact that Brunstetter's books are fairly predictable, I still enjoy reading them. I would recommend this series to everyone.
I started An Amish Kitchen on our trip to New Jersey on Friday. It was too dark to read on the way home on Sunday so I didn't get any further.
I'm currently reading Every Perfect Gift by Dorothy Love
Update: I just finished Every Perfect Gift and LOVED it.
I'm actually taking a break from Amish fiction without even realizing it, lol. Aside from Accidentally Amish, the only other one I've read this year is The Lesson. I've been reading a lot of popular YA fiction, such as Unearthly and Cinder. Right now I'm reading Warm Bodies before I go see the movie.
Just started reading The Memory Jar by Tricia Goyer. Really enjoyed her other Amish series, so I have high hopes for this one. So far, so good...
My book isn't Amish either. It is a book by Mary Connelly, Out of Control. Have only read about 50 pages, so I'm not real sure how I feel about it yet.
I have just started reading Montana Rose by Mary Connealy. I am about half way through, and really enjoying it. Some of Cassie's first attempts at sharing the outside work on the "ranch" with her new husband are really quite funny, although they had the potential for serious or even deadly consequences.
I've just finished A Home for Lydia by Vannetta Chapman, which I loved nearly as much as the first book in the series. I love the communities and settings that Vannetta creates. If you haven't already read one of her books, you're missing out! :)
I finished
last night and started
. I really love Karen Kingsbury. I'm not sure when I'll actually read an Amish book, but I'm definitely seeing that there's more of it than I thought and that I'll eventually get around to. :)
Our library is very slow in getting books and doesn't always get books requested. Thanks for the tip, though. I appreciate it. Ü
I've got Coming Home on my wishlist so I'll be getting it eventually.
I thought that Coming Home was the best book I have read by Karen Kingsbury, and I have read a lot of her books.
I have just finished re-reading Plain Pursuit, the second book in Beth Wiseman's "Daughters of the Promise" series. This is one of the best Amish stories that I have ever read. I highly recommend this book to everyone, especially those of you who are reading the first book in this series, the Amish selection for February, Plain Perfect.
I just finished reading At Every Turn by Anne Mateer. I am not a big fan of auto racing, but the underlying story of honesty and trust was worth the read.
Phyllis wrote: "I juar started A Time To Love by Barbara Cameron. I think I am going to like it."That is a great series! I am finally getting around to finishing it! I love Barbara's work!
In case you're interesting in a scholarly take on Amish Romance fiction, here is an upcoming book due for March release: Thrill of the Chaste: The Allure of Amish Romance Novels. It's an analysis of the allure of Amish Romance fiction for non-Amish readers.
Shelter: This sounds really interesting. Will it only be available as an e-book? I don't do e-books, but I would really like to read this.

Half way through The Thorn by Beverly Lewis. It's interesting so far and getting to the stage that it is hard to put down. Keen to get the other 2 books in the Trilogy.

I've just finished Courting Cate by Leslie Gould. I wasn't sure how a Shakespeare play would convert into the Amish genre, but it worked surprisingly well. Highly recommended!
I just finished reading A Home for Lydia. It is a wonderful story. I am looking forward to the next book in this series, A Wedding for Julia, that, I think, is scheduled for release on July 1, 2013.

The other three books in the series are: Book #2 Colton's Ranch Refuge by Beth Cornelison; Book #3 Colton's Deep Cover by Elle Kennedy; and Book #4 Colton Showdown by Marie Ferrarella. These have all been released by Harlequin Romantic Suspense. I plan to read the rest of this series as soon as I can get the books.
