Carolyn E | 239 comments I have just finished reading Colton Destiny by Justine Davis, which is Book #1 in a series entitled "The Coltons of Eden Falls." I didn't realize until I saw the cover that this is an Amish series, or perhaps a mix of Amish and English. So far, I have only read Book #1, and I enjoyed it. However, you should be aware that the story doesn't end completely with this book. Presumably, it continues into Book #2 which I have not yet read.

The other three books in the series are: Book #2 Colton's Ranch Refuge by Beth Cornelison; Book #3 Colton's Deep Cover by Elle Kennedy; and Book #4 Colton Showdown by Marie Ferrarella. These have all been released by Harlequin Romantic Suspense. I plan to read the rest of this series as soon as I can get the books.

Kaye (momgee) | 19 comments Just finished The Captive Heart (Daughters of Caleb Bender, #2) by Dale Cramer This is the 2nd book in the Caleb Bender series set in Mexico, a little different from the norm. I really enjoyed it and look forward to the next one in the series, Though Mountains Fall by Dale Cramer to be released in January. If any reviewer belongs to Netgalley, this title is available through them.

Diane U (djuseless) In an Amish community, that is just how it is. They do not know it any differently. As "Englishers", we have a hard time dealing with that since women have worked so hard to be heard and become equals to men.

I am reading Beth Wiseman series of "A Daughters Promise" with 5 books in it and have just finished book #3, these are so good and if you have not read them -need to go back and take a look at this series...

message 807: by Lynn (new)

Lynn Kavanagh | 1 comments I am currently reading "Redeeming Grace (Hannah's Daughter's)" I absolutely LOVE this book I can't put it down. I've been reading it late into the night last night & tonight. I especially like the substory about the main character's sister who has Down Syndrome &she has a boyfriend who also has Down Syndrome. Having an adult daughter with Down Syndrome I can really relate to this part of the storyline. I think it was handled vety honestly & very much true to life. The rest of the story has really captured my attention & I'm very eager to read more of this author's books.

message 808: by Carolyn E (new)

Carolyn E | 239 comments Lynn: I, too, have been reading the "Hannah's Daughters" series by Emma Miller. I am currently reading Anna's Gift, the third book in the series. Have not yet gotten to Redeeming Grace, the fifth book in the series.

I agree with you. Susanna, the daughter with Down Syndrome, is a delightful character.

The next book in this series is scheduled for release in May, 2013.

Lynn & Carolyn -- I haven't read #5 yet (I loved 1-4), but I think you've helped me figured out what I'll read after I finish Accidentally Amish!

Carolyn E | 239 comments I have just finished reading The Struggle by Wanda E. Brunstetter. This is the third book in the "Kentucky Brothers" series. Despite the fact that Brunstetter's books are fairly predictable, I still enjoy reading them. I would recommend this series to everyone.

I'm actually taking a break from Amish fiction without even realizing it, lol. Aside from Accidentally Amish, the only other one I've read this year is The Lesson. I've been reading a lot of popular YA fiction, such as Unearthly and Cinder. Right now I'm reading Warm Bodies before I go see the movie.

message 828: by Phyllis (new)

Phyllis | 44 comments My book isn't Amish either. It is a book by Mary Connelly, Out of Control. Have only read about 50 pages, so I'm not real sure how I feel about it yet.

message 829: by Carolyn E (new)

Carolyn E | 239 comments I have just started reading Montana Rose by Mary Connealy. I am about half way through, and really enjoying it. Some of Cassie's first attempts at sharing the outside work on the "ranch" with her new husband are really quite funny, although they had the potential for serious or even deadly consequences.

message 830: by Rachel (new)

Rachel after I finished Leaving (Bailey Flanigan, #1) by Karen Kingsbury , I read Learning (Bailey Flanigan #2) by Karen Kingsbury , then I read Longing and am now working on Loving (Bailey Flanigan #4) by Karen Kingsbury

message 831: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) I've just finished A Home for Lydia by Vannetta Chapman, which I loved nearly as much as the first book in the series. I love the communities and settings that Vannetta creates. If you haven't already read one of her books, you're missing out! :)

message 832: by Rachel (new)

Rachel I finished Loving (Bailey Flanigan #4) by Karen Kingsbury last night and started Coming Home A Story of Undying Hope by Karen Kingsbury . I really love Karen Kingsbury. I'm not sure when I'll actually read an Amish book, but I'm definitely seeing that there's more of it than I thought and that I'll eventually get around to. :)

message 833: by Rachel (new)

Rachel I finished Coming Home A Story of Undying Hope by Karen Kingsbury this morning. It was intense and lovely as usual.

message 835: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Cindi, I use the library most of the time. :)

message 836: by Cindi (new)

Cindi Our library is very slow in getting books and doesn't always get books requested.
Thanks for the tip, though. I appreciate it. Ü

I've got Coming Home on my wishlist so I'll be getting it eventually.

message 837: by Phyllis (new)

message 838: by Carolyn E (last edited Feb 18, 2013 03:07PM) (new)

Carolyn E | 239 comments I have just finished re-reading Plain Pursuit, the second book in Beth Wiseman's "Daughters of the Promise" series. This is one of the best Amish stories that I have ever read. I highly recommend this book to everyone, especially those of you who are reading the first book in this series, the Amish selection for February, Plain Perfect.

message 839: by Phyllis (new)

Phyllis | 44 comments I just finished reading At Every Turn by Anne Mateer. I am not a big fan of auto racing, but the underlying story of honesty and trust was worth the read.

Shelter Somerset (sheltersomerset) | 8 comments In case you're interesting in a scholarly take on Amish Romance fiction, here is an upcoming book due for March release: Thrill of the Chaste: The Allure of Amish Romance Novels. It's an analysis of the allure of Amish Romance fiction for non-Amish readers.

This sounds fascinating. Thanks for sharing!

I've just finished Courting Cate by Leslie Gould. I wasn't sure how a Shakespeare play would convert into the Amish genre, but it worked surprisingly well. Highly recommended!
