I finished Triumph by Carolyn Jessop which was awesome! And I finished Heart of the Country by Rene Gutteridge. The review for that posted today! Now I need to finish The Inconvenient Marriage of Charlotte Beck: A Novel by Kathleen Y'Barbo
Jessica wrote: "I'm reading "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins right now. Really good so far."I read the whole series, I loved it! Enjoy! I can't wait for the movie in a few weeks!

The preview for the movie is what made me look into the book. I've had so many friends tell me I will love the books so I decided to read them.
I just finished Every Now and Then by Karen Kingsbury, completing the 9/11 series. I loved it!I am now reading Oceans Apart by Karen Kingsbury. I love her books right now.

Keep the tissue box handy!!
Keep the tissue box handy!!
I have just started reading Deep in the Heart of Trouble by Deeanne Gist. Once I finish this book it will be time to read another Amish book. Will read this months group read.
I just started Larkspur Cove by Lisa Wingate. I read almost 100 pages soaking in the tub after a long day of babysitting!
Right now I'm still finishing up our February read, A Wedding Quilt for Ella by Jerry S. Eicher, as well as reading Love on the Range by Jessica Nelson on my Kindle and The Good Girl's Guide to Great Sex: by Sheila Wray Gregoire.
Camille wrote: "I'm working on By the Light of the Silvery Moon by Tricia Goyer. Anyone read that?"No, but I want to! I hope to squeeze it into my review schedule for next month, maybe.
I've never read a Titanic novel before, but I love Tricia Goyer's work so I'm enjoying it so far. It's different than anything I've read!
Well I'm not reading an Amish fiction book right now. I'm on the second book of the Hunger Games called "Catching Fire". I'm about 60 pages into it and having a hard time reading it. It's good, but not as good as the first one. At least not so far.

I'm reading Waiting for Morning by Karen Kingsbury. I am on a K.K. kick lately! Lol!
Jessica, I have heard so much about Hunger Games, is it just about kids battling to the death? what did you love about it?
Rachel wrote: "Right now I'm still finishing up our February read, A Wedding Quilt for Ella by Jerry S. Eicher, as well as reading Love on the Range by [author:Jessi..."I am now reading "A Wedding Quilt for Ella", about half way through!
I just finished A Wedding Quilt for Ella, and I enjoyed it. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.Right now, I am reading The Wings of Morning by Murray Pura. I am about one-third of the way through it. I am enjoying it although I find it very disturbing. Unfortunately, I fear that some of this may have been based on fact.
Laura wrote: "I'm currently reading Sixty Acres and a Bride by Regina Jennings."
Did you enjoy this book? It just never grabbed my attention, I only managed to read about 1/3 of it..

I am reading:The Choice by Suzanne Woods Fisher
I needed to take a little break from the involved topics of Karen Kingsbury. I missed my Amish fiction too!
I wanted to start The Choice but I didn't have it with me while sitting with my daughter in the hospital, so I started The Half-Stitched Amish Quilting Club since I had my kindle along.
I am currently reading Sarah's Christmas Miracle by Mary Ellis. I just don't seem to be getting much time for reading lately unfortunately.
Right now I'm reading Evelina by Fanny Burney and listening to House Rules by Jodi Picoult. Nothing Amish! But I did finish Beyond Hope's Valley by Tricia Goyer yesterday :)
What do you think of House Rules, Rachel? I look forward to reading Beyond Hope's Valley but could be a while as my library still has that one on order.
I have just started reading The Choice by Suzanne Woods Fisher. Got to try and catch up on the monthly reads.
Shaz wrote: "What do you think of House Rules, Rachel? I look forward to reading Beyond Hope's Valley but could be a while as my library still has that one on order."I'm really, really enjoying it! It's been a while since I read a Jodi Picoult novel but I read a lot of her books when I was in high school. After taking a rather long break from her books, I've quickly remembered why I used to love them so much! I *think* I might have figured out the twist, but I probably haven't. Her stories are so complex, I don't know how she does it.
I thought that Beyond Hope's Valley wasn't quite as good as the previous two books, but still excellent! I'll be writing a review sometime soon, and I promise not to spoil the ending or tell anyone whether she chooses Aaron or Ben :)
The month is fast coming to an end. Hasn't been an overly productive reading month for me this month. I have just finished reading The Choice by Suzanne Woods Fisher and have House of Secrets by Tracie Peterson waiting to be read but not sure if I will get to it before the end of the month.Just started reading The Waiting by Suzanne Woods Fisher.
This has been a slow month for me as well. I'm now reading The Fiddler by Beverly Lewis and then I plan to finish off The Expedition of Humphry Clinker by Tobias Smollett, which has been sitting, half-read, on my nightstand for a couple of weeks.Shaz, how are you finding The Waiting? I've not yet got around to reading any more of that series.
I'm so glad that I'm not the only one not having a productive reading month. Having our oldest child return home from college has hindered my reading time.
Don't get me wrong, I love that she's with us, it's just that she's thrown a monkey wretch in the schedule that my hubby & I have adopted these past 3 years. Hopefully she'll find a job soon and have a lot less free time.

I have just finished reading The Waiting and just started reading The Search. I enjoyed The Waiting and following the challenges that Cal and Jorie faced and how it was all going to end up. I was interested to read this series as it was the first books that I have read by Suzanne Woods Fisher and have always read great reviews about her books. I look forward to reading more of her books.
Shaz wrote: "Rachel wrote: "This has been a slow month for me as well. I need to read it sometime!
I'm afraid I thought The Fiddler was a bit disappointing. It just didn't seem like anything else she's ever written. The story was pretty predictable and the pacing and point-of-view switched constantly throughout the story so I never felt like I connected with any one character. It wasn't exactly a bad book, but it didn't measure up to her previous novels as I'd expected. I'd probably give it 2.5/5.
I'm now starting The Maid of Fairbourne Hall by Julie Klassen, although I want to finish off The Expedition of Humphry Clinker for Tobias Smollett for university. I think I'm going to read 50 pages of each, and kind of keep Klassen's book as a reward for whenever I read 50 pages of Smollett :)
Just finished Hiding in Plain Sight by Amy Wallace. This is a wonderful story of a Mennonite widow and her troubled adopted 13-year-old son, Bradley, and her struggle to keep the 100-acre dairy farm that was left to her when her husband died. The town council members also want her land for development. Since the death of Anna's husband, Peter, it appears that at least one potential developer is willing to go to any extreme to force the widow to sell her land.
This book is also a bit of a character study, delving into the background of the main characters to explain their actions in supporting Anna's battle with the town council members.
I highly recommend this book. I hope we will be hearing more from this author.
I wanted to read that one but NetGalley had already archived it even though it's not yet published!!!
I just finished House of Secrets and am partway into Plain Fear: Forsaken by Leanna Ellis, the Amish vampire novel....
I just finished The Bridge of Peace ; series finally picked up with this one. :D Now, I've to finish up a couple other books before I get to finish the series (looking forward to doing so)
Camille wrote: "I just finished House of Secrets and am partway into Plain Fear: Forsaken by Leanna Ellis, the Amish vampire novel...."Camille: I loved Plain Fear: Forsaken. I am looking forward to the sequel. (I have forgotten exactly when it is supposed to be published; will have to check on that.)
Camille wrote: "I just finished House of Secrets and am partway into Plain Fear: Forsaken by Leanna Ellis, the Amish vampire novel...."I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on taht book Camille. I bought it but have not got around to reading it yet!
FYI -- The second book in the Plain Fear series (Plain Fear: Forbidden) by Leanna Ellis is scheduled for release in August, 2012. I am really eager to get this. The first book, Plain Fear: Forsaken is great! I really enjoyed it.
I hope to get my review written in the next few days! Meanwhile I am working on The Captive Heart by Dale Cramer.
I'm reading The Messenger by Siri Mitchell and still plodding through The Expedition of Humphry Clinker by Tobias Smollett. I sped through The Maid of Fairbourne Hall by Julie Klassen SO fast. Definitely read this if you're a fan of historical romance :)

It must be me when it comes to The Maid of Fairbourne Hall. I LOVE historical romance, but this one was VERY disappointing IMO. Given the rave reviews it's gotten, I must be the one with the problem!

There's always one or two occasions where you just don't "get" the big deal about a book. Did it just not live up to the reviews, or was there something specific in the story that you didn't like?
