I know this was a series of books, possibly written before the 90's. I never ending up finishing the first one and of course I can't remember a title/author. But I do remember the boy was some sort of an apprecetice and he had a name kind of like Skeeve or Skeevy. The illustrations even felt like Harry Potter. He had dark shaggy hair and glasses even (no scar hehe)...and a Dumbledore-like character as his master. Any help finding this would be appreciated!

Well, Skeeve, is an apprentice in the Myth Adventures by Robert Asprin. However, his master, Aahz, was not what I would call Dumbledore like. Plus, Skeeze had brown to sandy hair, and didn't wear glasses.

Thank you so much! Keep in mind my memory of it is very faulty since I had only flipped through as a child. I had never read more than a few pages and so could only remember a few pages. I'm sure somewhere along the way, I added a few Harry Potter elements as I was trying to remember what the book was called.
Rachel, Are you saying it might be one of the books Wayne suggested? If so, I guess you can find one of those books to see. Either way, members in this group can keep trying to find the book for you.
