RandomAnthony | 14536 comments The Huffington Post has some pics/stories of people who live "off the grid" (see the link for the definition of that phrase)...

Could you live off the grid? Would you want to do so? Do you know anyone who does?

My brother is sort of half off the grid. He gets paid cash (he's a musician) and doesn't have many legal records of which I can tell. He often lives up in the mountains, way isolated. I worry about him.

I do fantasize about it sometimes. Sometimes shit in the city just gets oppressive and there are days I would love to live in a small isolated cabin in the woods. I would eat squirrel (among other things). I have eaten squirrel.

ms.petra (mspetra) as always, I would want the best of both worlds. A little electricity and running water is a good thing IMO. But the idea of a cabin nestled near a sparkling lake or an adobe house on the high desert of Sedona or a little beach house on the Oregon coast......

I don't worry about your brother, RA. thing is, he lives in a whole community that is off the grid. It isn't like he's alone in a cabin in Montana, he's with an extended family of like minds.

I'd like to say I could live off the grid, but I rely on technology too much for how I live to be able to do that without major lifestyle changes.
