To any/all having problems with misprints, here is the word from Penguin/Dial:
"It has come to the attention of Penguin Young Readers Group that a printing error appears in some copies of The Books of Elsewhere, Vol. 1: The Shadows, affecting one or more of the following pages: 185, 192-193, 200-201, 216. If your copy of the book is defective, please don't hesitate to contact us at ecommerce@us.penguingroup.com. Just make sure that "The Books of Elsewhere" is in the subject line, and remember to provide proof of purchase in your email.
In the meantime, we've made the corrected pages available for you online (just so you won't be left in the agony of suspense!). Click here to continue reading.
Please be reassured that this printing error affected only a limited quantity of stock in the first printing of the book, and the misprint has since been corrected.
We apologize for the inconvenience this has no doubt caused and hope you'll enjoy the rest of the book (we have a feeling you will). Since this is one secret best not kept, please point anyone else with a defective copy in the direction of this web site. Thank you! Now let's get back to Olive's (mis)adventures..."
--Also, anyone who has a misprint from Amazon, you can return it to them at their expense for a replacement. Remember to check those pages first, as not all copies shipped are misprints.
I haven't but the story itself is wonderful! I'm a teacher and have shared Jacqueline's books everywhere I go and every child who says, "I wish I had a book to read." Of course I add my Finger Bones Books! I recommend her books. It all started in a deserted creepy house!
