Welcome to the group, Marsha! Agreed! This is a fun series, but the ratings are definitely high or low depending on how the reader can deal (or cares to) with the world she's created. I agree, it's wonderful how Stacia's been able to create characters the really pull us in and, in Terrible's case, cause us to fall for them. I've got to get to #3, but I'm wondering if, at this point, I should just wait until I have #4 and read them back-to-back. That's always nice to be able to do.

I agree, ..."In some ways, I would suggest waiting until #4 because after reading #3, I would very much like to jump right into number 4! But, then, I don't think I could wait that long myself:)
I didn't realize, but it's almost been a year since I read #2 (Wow! Doesn't feel like that long.), so waiting a bit longer to read #3-4 doesn't seem bad to me. I'll do that, thanks. :)
I love Terrible I think he is 50% why I read the book.Was anyone else surprised about the new book? I thought it ended at book 3. Do not get me wrong I will not complain :-)
I haven't read it yet. But, agree - the series wouldn't be the same w/out Terrible.

I have #4 on pre-order. I may read the first three again just before #4 comes out so that I'm fresh and ready to go. I just really hope that she doesn't try to create a love triangle between Chess, Terrible, and Lex. I like Lex well enough, but it would be so sad for Terrible to get hurt any more than he already has. Go Terrible!

Hey, I kept meaning to come by here and ask ... in Sacrificial Magic, did anyone else notice Stacia's note at the end, "To the real Chelsea Mueller, with thanks." ??When I read the character's full name, I thought, "I know someone by that same name on GR." LOL! Is the "real Chelsea" Chelsea Mueller from Vampire Book Club? How cool for her, if so. :D

Sigh... I love Terrible. I'm not sure if I have ever been as angry at a fictional character as I usually am at Chess when I read her books. Yet, I still keep coming back for more and can't get enough! This is what makes Ms. Kane a genius!

Finally read it and loved it. Love Terrible. Can't wait for the short. So nice of her to treat us with that and a novella from his POV.
I'm going to start this series soon. I have the trilogy
Hope you like it. Some really do and other really don't. I'm among those that love it, but can understand why it's not for everyone. It's different, that's for sure. It's not a trilogy though. Currently, there are five full-length books and two shorts available. Book #6, Untitled, is due in June 2013.

Josie, in an aside in a blog post back in April, 2016, SK stated she is working on Downside #6. She is also publishing a new novel set in Vegas with a demon that has a quota, Made for Sin. Due out 30th August.
Yeah, I've been periodically checking on her blog for updates b/c I'm missing my Chess/Terrible stories. I do plan on buying Made For Sin, but am hoping Unholy Luck does see the light of day.
Thanks for the info, it's hard to keep up with all the ongoing UF/PNR series! XDIt's a bit annoying when an author starts another project/book before finishing what they've already started or at least delaying it by years. I know it's a creative process and life gets in the way, but I still get frustrated!
I think Ilona/G Andrews handle that side of it very well.

Yeah, I hadn't thought about the financial aspect. But, surely it'd frustrate some readers enough that they never go back to the series once another book finally does come out.
Apparently she was offered to do the Made for Sin book as part of a larger deal, so she took it, and even then it was supposed to be out last February. So its no wonder the Chessiebomb book has been delayed again.She wasn't for me, so it doesn't worry me at all, and I probably won't pick up the newbie one either.
I've read the new book Made For Sin & I liked it a lot. It's very different from Downside Ghosts, not as dark, so you might like it Sandra.
