I finished the Wool Omnibus around a week ago - it was wonderful - I recommend it highly. Still think about it a lot. Gone Girl was also great. I'm currently reading a book that been on my e-reader for over a year,
Before The Poison by Peter Robinson. Enjoying it very much.

message 4008: by Chuck (new)

Chuck (chuckb4) I just started Ted Dekker's Black with the hope to read the entire Circle series. Through the first 100 pages, has a very Talisman type of feel to me.

Enjoy it. The entire series is utterly amazing, IMO. It's easily one of my favorite series, actually.

message 4010: by Aoibhínn (new)

Aoibhínn (aoibhinn) I just finished reading The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty by William Peter Blatty. The Exorcist is an engrossing, gripping, disturbing and well-written supernatural tale. I really enjoyed this novel. I thought the author's writing style was excellent. I found it very hard to put this book down for long. I just had to know what happened next even though I've seen the movie half a dozen times! It didn't frighten me to death but it did scare me a good bit! Even though the book is over forty years old, except for a bit of seventies slang here and there, it really isn't dated at all. The Exorcist is one of the best horror novels that I've read in a long time. Even if you've already seen the movie a hundred times I'd recommend reading the novel as it's a lot better than the movie!

message 4013: by Drew (new)

Drew | 124 comments Just started The Way of Kings (The Stormlight Archive, #1) by Brandon Sanderson . Figured I'd get started at the beginning of this one.

message 4014: by [deleted user] (new)

Cujo is the absolute best of the best apart from David Mitchell's Cloud Atlas.

This book really creeped me out, maybe it was just the right setting, or I was in the right mood but it ranks in my top ten scariest books I've read.

message 4034: by Jacob (new)

Jacob Rayne | 151 comments I'd stick with King, Ethan. Dracula, though hugely influential, bored me to tears!

message 4039: by Matthew (new)

Matthew Behling (MattyKB) | 109 comments Just finished Lisey's Story. Onto the next book. Trying to decide what to read next. On my list are either 11/22/63 or The Stand, but as both are gigantic I'm also tempted to instead read The Running Man to mix things up. I have yet to read any of these. Any thoughts?

message 4040: by Holly (new)

Holly | 434 comments Those are some very hard choices Matthew; they were all fantastic!

I just read The Running Man not that long ago and had a hard time putting it down. Maybe reading that one next would be a nice change for you. :-)

I love both 11/22/63 and The Stand, but my suggestion is The Stand. Hands down. My all-time favorite King.

message 4042: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine Wrede | 14 comments Hey Matthew- I am listening the the 11-22-63 audiobook and really like it. I was born in 1959 so it is a bit nostalgic for me. Just my 2 cents!

Chris ( librocubicularist ) King | 152 comments The Shining.

message 4046: by Jacob (new)

Jacob Rayne | 151 comments Shining definitely

message 4047: by Aoibhínn (new)

Aoibhínn (aoibhinn) I've just finished Defending Jacob by William Landay by William Landay. Defending Jacob is a well-written, disturbing and gripping crime thriller with plenty of twists and turns throughout the novel to keep you interested. I really enjoyed this book. I was hooked from the very beginning to the end. The reader is kept guessing as to whether Jacob is innocent or guilty until the very end of the novel. Throughout the trial I kept changing my mind about whether Jacob was guilty or not. I thought this was a excellent read so I’m giving it a well-deserved five stars!
