I dont think I even saw the movie! Well I guess I will be watching that. The Running Man move was ridiculous lol.
I am now reading Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking andThe Kitchen House.
Tracy wrote: "I am now reading Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking andThe Kitchen House."Tracy, I'd like to know what you think of the "Quiet..." book. I'm assuming it's written from an introverts POV. I've always felt like society see's introverts as misfits or as a social defect.
I am re-reading the third book in the Southern Vampire series by Charlaine Harris, Club Dead and re-reading The Green Mile. Both are for book clubs. We decided to read The Green Mile the way it was originally published, so Parts 1 & 2 are the first week. Wrapped up part 2 this morning. Not sure if I can wait for the second week to start the next two parts. :-)

Tim, the societal push to make those of us that are more introverted to be more extroverted is a major point of the book so far. I am finding it very enlightening. I'm having a lot of hmmm moments.
Just started the girl who loved tom gordon. Ive heard mixed reviews but ima give it a shot. Then its on to inaomnia or needful things.
Ethan wrote: "Just started the girl who loved tom gordon. Ive heard mixed reviews but ima give it a shot. Then its on to inaomnia or needful things."I really liked The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon.
Ethan wrote: "Just started the girl who loved tom gordon. Ive heard mixed reviews but ima give it a shot. Then its on to inaomnia or needful things."Ethan I loved both of those, Insomnia and Needful Things! Need to do a reread though to refresh my memory.
Ethan wrote: "i heard there both good. just found needful things today at goodwill lol"Insomnia and Needful Things were awesome too!
Well awesome! I have that in hardback, I would love to get it in paperback though. SO much easier for me to read that way.
Janie wrote: "Well awesome! I have that in hardback, I would love to get it in paperback though. SO much easier for me to read that way."I prefer paperback to hardcover.
im kinda funny about that i hardly ever buy paperbacks. amazon has hardcovers for so cheap and i like them alot more. i have about 24 king books and full dark no stars is the only paperback.
Ethan wrote: "im kinda funny about that i hardly ever buy paperbacks. amazon has hardcovers for so cheap and i like them alot more. i have about 24 king books and full dark no stars is the only paperback."I like paperbacks better because they're smaller and easier to carry around with you.
Janie wrote: "LOL Just the opposite. I cant stand hardbacks. Paperbck all the way baby! WOOT! LOL"Lol YES!!!!!!!
lol. My fiance is the same as y'all. I don't know my paperbacks always kinda fell apart on me. My town is basically a swamp with lots of humidity. which is of course no good for books lol
Ethan wrote: "lol. My fiance is the same as y'all. I don't know my paperbacks always kinda fell apart on me. My town is basically a swamp with lots of humidity. which is of course no good for books lol"Lol ahh.....well in your case, hardcovers work best then!
Hmm I'm a fan of hardcovers when I know I'm going to want to keep the book, which is usually the case with SK's novels. Anythings else, its usually ebook for me. Paperbacks just seem too disposable to me to keep around very long.
The girl who played with fire and probably by the end of the week I will be reading the girl who kicked the hornet's nest.. loving the writing style and story
Varsha wrote: "The girl who played with fire and probably by the end of the week I will be reading the girl who kicked the hornet's nest.. loving the writing style and story"You're reading my favorite trilogy! Hope you love it as much as I do. :)

Thanks- It seems like it will be one of my faves too.. I had to pause DT series until I get parts 5 and 6 !
Ethan wrote: "im kinda funny about that i hardly ever buy paperbacks. amazon has hardcovers for so cheap and i like them alot more. i have about 24 king books and full dark no stars is the only paperback."Maybe you can somehow get rid of the paperback of Full Dark No Stars, even though it does have extra materials, since Barnes and Nobles does have the book in hardcover in their bargain section for $6.98, and also the trade paperback for a dollar less.
Right now I'm doing a re-read of one of my favorite books back in High School, Heir to the Empire. I'm also reading The Windup Girl, which is getting more interesting now that I'm getting further into it. For non-fiction I'm reading Henry Clay: The Essential American bit by bit.
Infected: A Novel by Scott Sigler, The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon, and Justice League: Cry for Justice by James Robinson.
I just finished the girl who loved tom gordon. ( I just wrote one of my first reviews for it so please let me know what you think) Now I'm about to start Insomnia.
Ethan wrote: "I just finished the girl who loved tom gordon. ( I just wrote one of my first reviews for it so please let me know what you think) Now I'm about to start Insomnia."I'll check your review out, as well, Ethan. Thank you for the invite.

Diane wrote: "Shadow of the Wind is one of my favorite novels. It's an excellent read!"Glad you said that. I was wondering about that one.
Scott wrote: "Finished Rot & Ruin last night and started Odd Thomas this morning."Oh, I love the Odd Thomas series! I can't wait to get the new one!
I finished reading
by Nicholas Sparks a few hours ago. The book was a bit of a disappointment really. I've read most of Spark's books and I think I'm too used to his writing style. I found the plot of the story to be extremely predictable and slightly unrealistic. But if you've never read a Nicholas Spark novel before, you'd probably like it. Now I'm about to start reading
by John Grisham. It's the october monthly read in a Goodreads group I'm in and I want to get a head start on it.
Ellie wrote: "Now I'm about to start reading Ford County by John Grisham. It's the october monthly read in a Goodreads group I'm in and I want to get a head start on it."I've got that one on my TBR
Ellie wrote: "I finished reading

I was reading them back to back, and like you said, I found them predictable, and stopped reading his books. It's the same old, "They meet, they fall in love, someone dies/or things don't work out in some way."
Janie wrote: "LOL Just the opposite. I cant stand hardbacks. Paperbck all the way baby! WOOT! LOL"I'm paperback all the way too. Hardcovers are too cumbersome, especially Stephen King's! My wrists were hurting for a month while reading 11/22/63 :)
So today i bought a copy of timeline by Michael Crichton for. 99 cents. when i opened it and looked at the title page the authors signature was there. i know this is not exactly the type thread for this but i was just wondering if there's a website or something to help guess if its real or not. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Unfortunately I can't help with your question :(

I really liked The Mist. I thought the movie was well done too.
